[PATCH 00/16] Small bits of non-Linux porting
Hi,
from time to time, there have been requests (or attempts, like the
mingw port posted on the list some months ago) to make libguestfs work
on OSes different than Linux. Of course this would imply using a fixed
appliance, since it is currently heavily dependent on Linux.
The attached series provides some easy changes in this direction,
resolving some of the easy issues found in porting to

[PATCH 0/5] Rename src/ to lib/ and move common code to common/
This patch series moves some files and directories around but is only
code motion (or supposed to be).
A new directory, common/, is created for all of the common code which
is currently shared in random ways between parts of the project.
And src/ becomes lib/ (the largest change, but mostly mechanical).
In full this series makes the following changes:
src/libprotocol -> common/protocol

[PATCH 4/4] lib: Remove unused header files.
I used ESR's deheader program to look for unused includes. I then
examined each instance by hand, and also test-compiled (on Linux).

[PATCH v2 0/7] Rename src/ to lib/ and move common code to common/
Previous patch series was posted here:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2017-January/msg00059.html
v2 simply extends this patch series to cover the extra directories
common/edit, common/progress, common/windows and common/parallel.
The only remaining item is to consider whether we should rename mllib
to something else, mlcommon was my suggestion.
Rich.

[PATCH 0/4 v1] Remove gettextify, implement OCaml gettext.
Version 1 of the patch, for discussion, but not to be applied. It
does work, but needs a lot more testing.
This removes all the psychopathic gettextify cruft, and replaces it
with a 99 line Makefile.am. A large win, I think.
The third patch implements gettext support in the OCaml tools.
The fourth patch is just for illustration. It shows the consequent
changes to libguestfs.pot and the po

[PATCH 0/3] library: improve handling of external tools
Hi,
the libguestfs library uses a number of external tools; for some of
them, we search for them at build time, enabling some feature only if
found, and later on assuming at runtime they are installed. However,
the situation is more complex than that:
- hardcoding the full path means that there is an incoherency in the
way some of the tools are used, as some other tools (e.g. qemu-img)
are

[PATCH 2/4] lib: Move <libintl.h> -> files that use it.
Don't include <libintl.h> (for gettext etc) in <guestfs-internal.h>.
Include include it only in files that use internationalized strings.

[PATCH 0/10] Add a mini-library for running external commands.
Inspired by libvirt's virCommand* internal mini-library, this adds
some internal APIs for running commands.
The first patch contains the new APIs. The subsequent patches change
various parts of the library over to use it.

[PATCH 0/4] Add hivex APIs into the libguestfs API (RHBZ#852394)
This adds most of the hivex APIs directly to the libguestfs API, so
that you can read and write Windows Registry hive files from
libguestfs without needing to download and upload hive files from the
guest.
This is analogous to how Augeas APIs are exposed already
(guestfs_aug_*)
Also, inspection is now done using the new APIs, which fixes the
following bug:

[PATCH v2 0/2] Improve inspection of /usr filesystems
Hi,
this patch series improves the way /usr filesystems are handled: tag
them appropriately, so later on we can find them and merge results they
contain directly back for the root filesystem.
Changes in v2:
- removed patches #1 and #2, already pushed
- drop patch #3, no more needed
- replace patch #4 with a better suggestion from Rich
- change if into assert in patch #5
Thanks,
Pino Toscano

[PATCH 1/3] generator: c: move internal functions
Move the generate_all_structs and generate_all_headers functions,
previously internal within the implementation of generate_guestfs_h, to
be usable by other functions in the same "C" module (but not public).
Only code motion.

[PATCH] inspect: improve detection of Mageia install discs
Check for a "product.id" file in an architecture-specific subdirectory
of the main partition, and use its data to improve the data on the
media.
Only Mageia as distribution name is recognized there, since most
probably this file will not be available on other distros.

[PATCH v2 0/2] Fix building on macOS
v1 was here:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2018-May/msg00042.html
v2:
- Split into two patches dealing with the different issues.
- git format & attribution.
I only tested this on Linux but at least it doesn't break things
there.
Rich.
