libguestfs preview for RHEL 7.4
With the release of RHEL 7.3 happening today, fixing 88 reported bugs
in libguestfs and virt-v2v, and countless other ones, it's time to
look ahead to RHEL 7.4.
Again we intend to rebase libguestfs, virt-v2v and virt-p2v:

Re: libguestfs preview for RHEL 7.4
Just a friendly reminder that RHEL 7.4 preview packages of libguestfs
and virt-v2v are available. You should be able to use them on top of
either RHEL 7.3 or CentOS 7.3.

ANNOUNCE: RHEL 6.4 preview packages available
As some may remember, in the run-up to RHEL 6.3 I made a yum
repository available of libguestfs and other packages. It's time for
the same thing for RHEL 6.4.
These packages should work on RHEL 6.3, CentOS 6.3 and other RHEL 6
derivatives (although I've only tried them on RHEL 6.3). A source RPM
is also supplied in case you want to try rebuilding the package.
To use the repo, run the

FYI: Some changes to libguestfs / libguestfs-winsupport / virt-v2v / virt-p2v in RHEL 7.2
libguestfs is a set of tools for reading and modifying disk images and
virtual machines. virt-v2v and virt-p2v are tools for converting
guests from foreign hypervisors (especially VMware, Xen), or physical
machines, to run on KVM (eg. virt-manager, OpenStack/RHOS or oVirt/RHEV).
This is just a heads-up about some changes to the way libguestfs and
related packages will be packaged in RHEL 7.2.

RHEL 7.3 preview repository and virt-v2v Windows conversions
First I'd like to remind people that I am publishing RHEL 7.3 preview
packages of libguestfs here:
https://people.redhat.com/~rjones/libguestfs-RHEL-7.3-preview/
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2015-September/msg00079.html
These can be installed on RHEL 7.2.
In the libguestfs-1.32.1-3.el7 package that I have just uploaded, I
have enabled *experimental* support for virt-v2v

Libguestfs for RHEL 7.5 preview repository
As in previous years, I'm making an unofficial, unsupported, unsigned

RHEL 7.5 packages:
https://people.redhat.com/~rjones/libguestfs-RHEL-7.5-preview/

libguestfs for RHEL 7.0 preview repository
RHEL 7.0 will ship libguestfs 1.22, supermin (replacing febootstrap)
and hivex.
Although the RHEL 7 alphas and betas are not public, to help people
understand what the libguestfs package will look like I have put up a
preview repository:
http://oirase.annexia.org/tmp/libguestfs-RHEL-7.0/
This should work on top of RHEL 7 beta, for those able to use that.
If you want to use these packages,

Another possible bug in the preview version of virt-v2v for RHEL/CentOS 7.1
I have been able to get a litle further with converting a windows VM.
After getting the updated virt-v2v code and rhsrvany, I now get this error:
libguestfs: trace: hivex_node_set_value = 0
libguestfs: trace: upload "/usr/share/virtio-win/drivers/amd64/Win2012R2/netkvm.cat" "/Windows/Drivers/VirtIO"

libguestfs for RHEL 6.5 preview repository
In RHEL 6.5 we are probably going to rebase libguestfs, febootstrap
and virt-v2v.
As usual when this happens, I've put up a preview repository:
http://oirase.annexia.org/tmp/libguestfs-RHEL-6.5/
If you want to use these packages, the easiest thing to do is to copy
the attached file into /etc/yum.repos.d/ and simply install or upgrade
libguestfs.
If you want to test libguestfs, obviously

Re: libguestfs-winsupport
I forgot:
My repo has libguestfs-1.28.1-1.18. But for 1.31.X everything seems to
work without libguestfs-winsupport.
Second part of question is:
Will libguestfs-winsupport be needed for v1.30? 1.32?
And third:
We came to

/usr/lib64/guestfs/supermin.d/zz-winsupport
But this does not work somehow.

Hi rjones,
Good catch, thanks a lot. Does it only disable from official rhel/centos RPM with `XXXX-RHEL-7-Reject-use-of-libguestfs-winsupport-features-.patch' in libguestfs while it still work in upstream source code ( e.g. rhel-7.2 branch in https://github.com/libguestfs/libguestfs ) , which option need to enable windows VM ntfs and guestmount command support when i make configure to

C 7 installation annoyances
*** This response is my personal opinion and may not reflect that of my employer. ***
It seems recent updates to Anaconda and in particular Blivet in the CentOS 7 .iso are restricting things rather than expanding the options. We have a scenario where we are doing a CentOS 6 to CentOS 7 upgrade (replacement) using a backup partition to hold the install image. Over the years, as we added cloud

libguestfs-winsupport
Hello! I have a mess with libguestfs-winsupport package.
I my repo (centos-7.1-based distro) I have ntfs-3g-2015-3.14 in epel
(and not versions anywhere else).
I got libguestfs-winsupport-7.1.X but it contains ntfs-3g-2014* and
conflicts with epel ntfs-3g (although if I run rpm -ivh --force
libguestfs-winsupport, the appliance uses v2015).
I found on ~rjones/ libguestfs-winsupport-7.2.1

Thank you for the advice.
Just installed libguestfs-winsupport and ntfs is showing up when running
virt-sparsify --machine-readable
Cool!!! Thank you very much for replying.
Will do virt-sparsify now. It should work now.
Thank you again for helping. I was stuck and

Re: Virt-v2v conversion issue
The version libguestfs-winsupport installed is well 7.1-3.el7 and the qemu-kvm-rhev is 2.1.2-2.el7
In fact the qemu-img convert hangs.
