Sum Sq of SPSS and R different for repeated measures Anova
Dear all, I'm still learning and transitioning from SPSS to R (1.9.0, winXP) and today I have data from two repeated measures experiments. For each of the subjects I've averaged for two within-SS factors (2 x 2, 4 means per subjects). One experiment had 16 subjects, the other one 25 (between-SS factor exp). So I have something like: avg.cond <- read.table('data.txt') #

Help to improve prediction from supervised mapping using kohonen package
I would really like some or any advice on how I can improve (or fix??) the following analysis. I hope I have provided a completely runnable code - it doesn't produce any errors for me. The resulting plot at the end shows a pretty poor correlation (just speaking visually here) to the test set. How can I improve the performance of the mapping and prediction? Here are some of the data

nfs flush/fsync config settings problem
Hi, I need to place a maildir storage on a NFS filesystem, so I set up the config like this: mmap_disable = yes mail_nfs_storage = yes mail_nfs_index = yes mail_fsync = always lock_method = dotlock (also tried fcntl - local lockd is running, no success, now using dotlock, to be sure while debugging) The problem is that Dovecot (2.2.9/2.2.10 - the relevant code in mail-index.c is the same) logs

Freeze with 2.6.32.19 and xen-4.0.1rc5
Hi, i have big trouble with a Debian Lenny dom0 and latest kernel 2.6.32.19 with xen-4.0.1rc5. Due some reason the system freezes from time to time. I used kernel 2.6.31.9 with xen-3.4.2 before. The machine doesn''t write anything to serial console so there are no errors or something like that. Perhaps there is something to see from the logs ... Hardware Board: Intel DQ45CB CPU:
