Don't allow users to append additional kernel cmdline args
Hi,
I'm successfully using PXELINUX for booting several flavors of Linux
using the LABEL/APPEND syntax in the config file. But I don't want to
allow the users to append additional kernel command line arguments
like "init=/bin/sh". Scanning the docs and the mailing list archive I
could not figure out how to do this. Can anyone give me a hint?
Thanks, Thomas

Setup: Failed to get CommonFilesFolder
Hi there everybody!
I'm currently using the newest wine-cvs and get a (at least for me) strange error: when i try to install a program (install shield used in the setup) the setup loads and then, when it is configuring the install shield, i get these errors in the console (without any debuging flags set) :
fixme:advapi:SetThreadToken ((nil), (nil)): stub (NT impl. only)

Trouble mounting a windows share from Linux
I have Fedora Core 1 workstations configured with winbind logging onto our
NT domain. Everything is going well except that I cannot seem to figure out
how to connect to a windows home directory on a Win2000 server. Here is the
scenario:
W2K server with home directories for each user:
Each user has modify permissions to their share
Administrator has full control

SYSLINUX 2.09, 2.10-pre1 released
Hi all,

the version number.
Changes in 2.09:
* SYSLINUX: Remove residual setuid crap from
syslinux-nomtools.
* Handle video pages correctly when using the API functions.
* Handle compiling on an x86-64 platform correctly.
* Menu system from Murali Krishnan Ganapathy; see the

[LLVMdev] Publication Generation of TLM Testbenches Using Mutation Testing
Dear all,
I would like to share a paper I co-authored with Prof. Alper Sen. This
paper describes an algorithm to generate testbenches from SystemC
models represented with LLVM IR. It was accepted and presented at
International Conference on Hardware/Software Codesign and System
Synthesis (CODES/ISSS), 2012. A link to the paper is accessible from
acm or Alper's website:

Our mail server is running Linux, so unless Monty spent two hours to get it to
run under Wine, I think you should look elsewhere for the origin ;)

Flac File Size
Hi,
I have a big flac file, i can divide this flac file into chunks by visual basic code, i can add header to these chunks by copying first 1K to other chunks, but chunks can not play properly, i think i need to change filesize from file headers of these chunks, i can read samplerate and samples count from header, but i do not know how can i calculate file size without reading all file, what

decoder give me values over 32000!
Hello,
we are using speex 1.0.3 under windows. We code samples with
values from -32.000 to 32.000 (signed short), but when we decode these
samples the values range from -45.000 to 45.000.
What is the problem?
<p> Thanks

Questons about R capabilities
Hello,
1) I am interested in performing a limited-dependent variable linear regression. By this I mean a classical linear regression, but for the case where the values of the dependent variable cannot vary from -infinity to +infinity, but are truncated and so are between two finite limits L1 and L2. Does R1.7 have this capability? If so what is (are) the relevant command(s)?
2) I am also

Dear all,
I'm happy to share a recent publication on a bounded model checker for
concurrent programs represented in LLVM IR that integrates the verification
framework that I'm developing:

Extracting p-values from modeling
Hello,
I have being conducting some (conditional logistic) regressions
(clr), and I'm interested in extracting and manipulating (as a number)
the p-values. (This is a prelude to some power simulations, where I'll
generate data sets, perform a clr on each data set, and then extract the
p-value for calculation of the power.) From what I can tell, the
p-value is not one of the quantities

Multilevel Modeling using glmmPQL
Hi,
I'm trying to perform a power simulation for a simple multilevel
model, using the function glmmPQL in R version 2.8.1. I want to extract
the p-value for the fixed-effects portion of the regression, but I'm
having trouble doing that. I can extract the coefficients
(summary(fit)$coeff), and the covariance matrix (summary(fit)$varFix),
but I can't grab the p-value (or the

The only way you can track these things is by IP address, looking
through the message headers. Don't try to draw any conclusions
from email addresses used in the message, be they From, To, or in
the body, as these are always forged and are harvested in many ways.

WIN-NT/Samba-Connect
we are using samba Version 1.9.18p8 and want to connect WIN-NT 3.5.1 to
Samba-
supportet Unix-Drives; but for any reason the password for this
connection
is always needed (we did the registry for enableplaintextpassword);
the same connection is done well on WIN95
could you figure out, what our problem is???
thank you
