[PATCH] VMXNET3: Add support for virtual IOMMU
This patch adds support for virtual IOMMU to the vmxnet3 module. We switch to DMA consistent mappings for anything we pass to the device. There were a few places where we already did this, but using pci_blah(); these have been fixed to use dma_blah(), along with all new occurrences where we've replaced kmalloc() and friends. Also fix two small bugs: 1) use after free of rq->buf_info in

FW: Question about /patch/9251925/
Hi Michael, Excuse me for disturbing you with this letter! I?m using linux 4.7.2 virtio driver + X86 64 + smart nic to validate PF and VF virtio performance. The VF?s performance is >1Mpps, but the PF?s performance is only 500Kpps even if using 8 virtio queues. So I reviewed virtio iommu patch in detail. I worry dma map/unmap cost many cycles. Do you have any suggestion? Thanks a

[PATCH] VMXNET3: Add support for virtual IOMMU
We can't just do virt_to_phys() on memory that we pass to the device and expect it to work in presence of a virtual IOMMU. We need to add IOMMU mappings for such DMAs to work correctly. Fix that with pci_alloc_consistent() where possible, or pci_map_single() where the mapping is short-lived or we don't control the allocation (netdev). Also fix two small bugs: 1) use after free of

[PATCH RFC net-next v8 0/3] netdev: ndo_tx_timeout cleanup
A bunch of drivers want to know which tx queue triggered a timeout, and virtio wants to do the same. We actually have the info to hand, let's just pass it on to drivers. Note: tested with an experimental virtio patch by Julio. That patch itself isn't ready yet though, so not included. Other drivers compiled only. Michael S. Tsirkin (3): netdev: pass the stuck queue to the timeout
