[PATCH net-next 0/3] vsock: support network namespace
Hi David, Michael, Stefan, I'm restarting to work on this topic since Kata guys are interested to have that, especially on the guest side. While working on the v2 I had few doubts, and I'd like to have your suggestions: 1. netns assigned to the device inside the guest Currently I assigned this device to 'init_net'. Maybe it is better if we allow the user to decide which

[RFC 0/6] Add virtio transport for AF_VSOCK
This patch series adds a virtio transport for AF_VSOCK (net/vmw_vsock/). AF_VSOCK is designed for communication between virtual machines and hypervisors. It is currently only implemented for VMware's VMCI transport. This series implements the proposed virtio-vsock device specification from here: http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.virtio.devel/855 Most of the work was done by

[PATCH 0/6] VSOCK: revert virtio-vsock until device spec is finalized
The virtio-vsock device specification is not finalized yet. Michael Tsirkin voiced concerned about merging this code when the hardware interface (and possibly the userspace interface) could still change. Please revert for now. I am working to finalize the virtio-vsock device specification and at that point the interfaces will be stable. Stefan Hajnoczi (6): Revert "VSOCK: fix

[RFC V2 0/7] Introduce VM Sockets virtio transport
Hello guys, This was V2 of the virtio-vsock back in last October. I do not have time to work on it since then. People are asking the latest status of virtio-vsock from time to time, so I'm sending out the code for people who are interested in. Feel free to grab the code and work on it if you want. In commit d021c344051af91 (VSOCK: Introduce VM Sockets), VMware added VM Sockets support. VM

[PATCH 0/1] VM Sockets for Linux upstreaming
From: Andy King <acking at vmware.com> ** Introduce VM Sockets *** In an effort to improve the out-of-the-box experience with Linux kernels for VMware users, VMware is working on readying the VM Sockets (VSOCK, formerly VMCI Sockets) (vmw_vsock) kernel module for inclusion in the Linux kernel. The purpose of this post is to acquire feedback on the vmw_vsock kernel module. Unlike previous

[RFC v5 0/5] Add virtio transport for AF_VSOCK
This series is based on Michael Tsirkin's vhost branch (v4.5-rc6). I'm about to process Claudio Imbrenda's locking fixes for virtio-vsock but first I want to share the latest version of the code. Several people are playing with vsock now so sharing the latest code should avoid duplicate work. v5: * Transport reset event for live migration support * Reorder virtqueues, drop unused

[PATCH net-next 00/14] vsock: add multi-transports support
This series adds the multi-transports support to vsock, following this proposal: https://www.spinics.net/lists/netdev/msg575792.html With the multi-transports support, we can use VSOCK with nested VMs (using also different hypervisors) loading both guest->host and host->guest transports at the same time. Before this series, vmci-transport supported this behavior but only using VMware

[RFC v6 0/6] Add virtio transport for AF_VSOCK
This series is based on v4.7. This RFC is the implementation for the new VIRTIO Socket device. It is developed in parallel with the VIRTIO device specification and proves the design. Once the specification has been accepted I will send a non-RFC version of this patch series. v6: * Add VHOST_VSOCK_SET_RUNNING ioctl to start/stop vhost cleanly * Add graceful shutdown to avoid port reuse while
