[PATCH v3 0/5] vsock/virtio: optimizations to increase the throughput
This series tries to increase the throughput of virtio-vsock with slight changes. While I was testing the v2 of this series I discovered an huge use of memory, so I added patch 1 to mitigate this issue. I put it in this series in order to better track the performance trends. v3: - Patch 1: added a threshold to copy only small packets [Jason] - Patch 1: replaced the allocation of a new buffer

[PATCH v2 0/8] vsock/virtio: optimizations to increase the throughput
While I was testing this new series (v2) I discovered an huge use of memory and a memory leak in the virtio-vsock driver in the guest when I sent 1-byte packets to the guest. These issues are present since the introduction of the virtio-vsock driver. I added the patches 1 and 2 to fix them in this series in order to better track the performance trends. v1:

[PATCH RFC 0/4] vsock/virtio: optimizations to increase the throughput
This series tries to increase the throughput of virtio-vsock with slight changes: - patch 1/4: reduces the number of credit update messages sent to the transmitter - patch 2/4: allows the host to split packets on multiple buffers, in this way, we can remove the packet size limit to VIRTIO_VSOCK_DEFAULT_RX_BUF_SIZE - patch 3/4: uses

If it's used under the wrong lock

[PATCH net 0/2] vsock/virtio: make the credit mechanism more robust
This series makes the credit mechanism implemented in the virtio-vsock devices more robust. Patch 1 sends an update to the remote peer when the buf_alloc change. Patch 2 prevents a malicious peer (especially the guest) can consume all the memory of the other peer, discarding packets when the credit available is not respected. [RFC v4 0/5] Add virtio transport for AF_VSOCK
This series is based on v4.4-rc2 and the "virtio: make find_vqs() checkpatch.pl-friendly" patch I recently submitted. v4: * Addressed code review comments from Alex Bennee * MAINTAINERS file entries for new files * Trace events instead of pr_debug() * RST packet is sent when there is no listen socket * Allow guest->host connections again (began discussing netfilter support with

[RFC v5 0/5] Add virtio transport for AF_VSOCK
This series is based on Michael Tsirkin's vhost branch (v4.5-rc6). I'm about to process Claudio Imbrenda's locking fixes for virtio-vsock but first I want to share the latest version of the code. Several people are playing with vsock now so sharing the latest code should avoid duplicate work. v5: * Transport reset event for live migration support * Reorder virtqueues, drop unused

[RFC v6 0/6] Add virtio transport for AF_VSOCK
This series is based on v4.7. This RFC is the implementation for the new VIRTIO Socket device. It is developed in parallel with the VIRTIO device specification and proves the design. Once the specification has been accepted I will send a non-RFC version of this patch series. v6: * Add VHOST_VSOCK_SET_RUNNING ioctl to start/stop vhost cleanly * Add graceful shutdown to avoid port reuse while

Most of the patches are reviewed by Dexuan, Stefan, and Jorgen. The following patches need reviews: - [11/15] vsock: add multi-transports support - [12/15] vsock/vmci: register vmci_transport only when VMCI guest/host are active - [15/15] vhost/vsock: refuse CID assigned to the guest->host transport RFC: https://patchwork.ozlabs.org/cover/1168442/ v1:

[RFC PATCH 00/13] vsock: add multi-transports support
Hi all, this series adds the multi-transports support to vsock, following this proposal: https://www.spinics.net/lists/netdev/msg575792.html With the multi-transports support, we can use vsock with nested VMs (using also different hypervisors) loading both guest->host and host->guest transports at the same time. Before this series, vmci-transport supported this behavior but only using
