[PATCH 00/15] Share TTM code among framebuffer drivers
Well first problem is I'm not sure if that is a good idea. Essentially we want to get rid of TTM in the long run. On the other hand this work might aid with that goal, so it might be worth a try. Second is that this might actually not work of hand. The problem is here: > + /* TODO: This test used to be performed by drivers, but can > + * this actually happen? If so, should we put

[PATCH 1/2] drm/ttm: Rename ttm_bo_global_{init, release}() to ttm_bo_global_ref_{, }()
The functions ttm_bo_global_init() and ttm_bo_global_release() do not receive an argument of type struct ttm_bo_global. Both take a struct drm_global_reference that contains points to a struct ttm_bo_global_ref. Renaming them reflects this. [PATCH 0/2][RESEND] Provide init/release functions for struct ttm_bo_global
TTM uses global memory and BO for backing graphics buffers. These are represented by struct ttm_mem_global and struct ttm_bo_global. Currently, struct ttm_bo_global can only be initialized and released through struct ttm_bo_global_ref. This is a workaround for passing an instance of ttm_mem_global to the BO global initialization code. The use of struct ttm_bo_global_ref makes driver code

[PATCH v5 00/20] Share TTM code among DRM framebuffer drivers
Several simple framebuffer drivers copy most of the TTM code from each other. The implementation is always the same; except for the name of some data structures. As recently discussed, this patch set provides generic memory-management code for simple framebuffers with dedicated video memory. It further converts the respective drivers to the generic code. The shared code is basically the same

VRAM MM and GEM VRAM are only used with each other. This patch set moves VRAM MM into GEM VRAM source files and cleans up the helper's public interface. Version 2 of the patch set doesn't contain functional changes. I'm reposting due to the rebasing onto the debugfs patches. v2: * updated for debugfs support * fixed typos in comments Thomas Zimmermann (4): drm/vram: Move VRAM

[PATCH 0/2] Provide init/release functions for struct ttm_bo_global
Yes, please! I had it on my TODO list to clean that up for an eternity. Actually I never understood why that should be driver work to setup TTM? I mean can't we just have a module_init/module_exit for TTM? Thanks, Christian. Am 13.08.2018 um 12:24 schrieb Thomas Zimmermann: > TTM uses global memory and BO for backing graphics buffers.
