automatic IRQ affinity for virtio V2
Hi Michael, hi Jason,
This patches applies a few cleanups to the virtio PCI interrupt handling
code, and then converts the virtio PCI code to use the automatic MSI-X
vectors spreading, as well as using the information in virtio-blk
and virtio-scsi to automatically align the blk-mq queues to the MSI-X
vectors.
Changes since V1:
- dropped the patches already merged for 4.10-rc

virtio_pci irq handling cleanups
Hi Michael,
this series contains a couple cleanups for the virtio_pci interrupt
handling code, including a switch to the new pci_irq_alloc_vectors
helper. All these are in preparation of taking advantage of the new
PCI layer / core IRQ interrupt affinity handling, for which I will
send out a series once this and some core interrupt handling changes
are in.

[PATCH] virtio_pci: fix macro exported in uapi
macro VIRTIO_PCI_CONFIG except in the unlikely event userspace
actually has a structure with a field named msix_enabled.
Get the msix_enabled by value instead, to make it useful
for userspace.

[PATCH 3/3] virtio_pci: optional MSI-X support
This implements optional MSI-X support in virtio_pci.
MSI-X is used whenever the host supports at least 2 MSI-X
vectors: 1 for configuration changes and 1 for virtqueues.
Per-virtqueue vectors are allocated if enough vectors
available.

[PATCH 0/9] virtio_pci: split out legacy device support
virtio 1.0 support for virtio-pci isn't ready yet.
Therefore, this patchset doesn't make any functional changes.
Instead, this simply refactors virtio-pci, splitting legacy
device support code out to a separate file: virtio_pci_legacy.c
For virtio 1.0, all that's left is to add virtio_pci_modern.c

[PATCH 0/11] RFC: PCI using capabilitities
Here's the patch series I ended up with. I haven't coded up the QEMU
side yet, so no idea if the new driver works.
Questions:
(1) Do we win from separating ISR, NOTIFY and COMMON?
(2) I used a "u8 bar"; should I use a bir and pack it instead? BIR
seems a little obscure (noone else in the kernel source seems to
refer to it).
Cheers,
Rusty.

[PATCH 00/22] New virtio PCI layout
I've renewed this again, with some comments from HPA. I've tried to
keep the new patches separate, so you can see the changes since we
last discussed this (and so it's easy to back it out if we decide it's
insane).
I haven't even looked at the QEMU side so this is completely untested.
Comments gratefully received!
Rusty.
