[PATCH net-next] virtio_net: Add ethtool stats
The main purpose of this patch is adding a way of checking per-queue stats. It's useful to debug performance problems on multiqueue environment. $ ethtool -S ens10 NIC statistics: rx_packets: 4172939 tx_packets: 5855538 rx_bytes: 6317757408 tx_bytes: 8865151846 rx_dropped: 0 rx_length_errors: 0 rx_frame_errors: 0 tx_dropped: 0 tx_fifo_errors: 0

[PATCH net-next 2/2] virtio-net: get rid of unnecessary container of rq stats
We don't maintain tx counters in rx stats any more. There's no need for an extra container of rq stats. [net-next V3 2/2] drivers: net: virtio_net: Implement a dev_watchdog handler
Driver virtio_net is not handling error events for TX provided by dev_watchdog. This event is reached when transmission queue is having problems to transmit packets. This could happen for any reason. To enable it, driver should have .ndo_tx_timeout implemented. This commit brings back virtnet_reset method to recover TX queues from a error state. That function is called by schedule_work method and

[PATCH net-next 1/2] virtio-net: correctly update XDP_TX counters
Commit 5b8f3c8d30a6 ("virtio_net: Add XDP related stats") tries to count TX XDP stats in virtnet_receive(). This will cause several issues: - virtnet_xdp_sq() was called without checking whether or not XDP is set. This may cause out of bound access when there's no enough txq for XDP. - Stats were updated even if there's no XDP/XDP_TX. Fixing this by reusing

[PATCH] virtio-net: fix a race on 32bit arches
From: Eric Dumazet <edumazet at google.com> commit 3fa2a1df909 (virtio-net: per cpu 64 bit stats (v2)) added a race on 32bit arches. We must use separate syncp for rx and tx path as they can be run at the same time on different cpus. Thus one sequence increment can be lost and readers spin forever. [RFC PATCH net-next v2 2/2] virtio_net: Extend virtio to use VF datapath when available
This patch enables virtio_net to switch over to a VF datapath when a VF netdev is present with the same MAC address. The VF datapath is only used for unicast traffic. Broadcasts/multicasts go via virtio datapath so that east-west broadcasts don't use the PCI bandwidth. It allows live migration of a VM with a direct attached VF without the need to setup a bond/team between a VF and virtio net

I prefer saying "a passthrough device" here. Does not have to be a VF at all. > It allows live migration of a VM > with a direct attached VF without the need to setup a bond/team between a
