[PATCH 4/6] drm/mgag200: Use simple encoder
The mgag200 driver uses an empty implementation for its encoder. Replace the code with the generic simple encoder. [PATCH v2 0/4] drm: Provide a simple encoder
Many DRM drivers implement an encoder with an empty implementation. This patchset adds drm_simple_encoder_init() and drm_simple_encoder_create(), which can be used by drivers instead. Except for the destroy callback, the simple encoder's implementation is empty. The patchset also converts 4 encoder instances to use the simple-encoder helpers. But there are at least 11 other drivers which can

[PATCH 07/11] drm: mgag200: remove dead code and pointless local lut storage
The redundant fb helpers .load_lut, .gamma_set and .gamma_get are no longer used. Remove the dead code and hook up the crtc .gamma_set to use the crtc gamma_store directly instead of duplicating that info locally. [RFT 07/13] drm/mgag200: Constify ioreadX() iomem argument (as in generic implementation)
The ioreadX() helpers have inconsistent interface. On some architectures void *__iomem address argument is a pointer to const, on some not. Implementations of ioreadX() do not modify the memory under the address so they can be converted to a "const" version for const-safety and consistency among architectures. Thanks but it depends on the first patch in the series so either it could go with your ack through other tree or I will send it later (once 1st patch gets to mainline). Best

[PATCH 1/2] drm: Add drm_gem_vram_{pin/unpin}_reserved() and convert mgag200
The new interfaces drm_gem_vram_{pin/unpin}_reserved() are variants of the GEM VRAM pin/unpin functions that do not reserve the BO during validation. The mgag200 driver requires this behavior for its cursor handling. The patch also converts the driver to use the new interfaces. [PATCH v3 15/19] drm/mgag200: Replace mapping code with drm_gem_vram_{kmap/kunmap}()
The mgag200 driver establishes several memory mappings for frame buffers and cursors. This patch converts the driver to use the equivalent drm_gem_vram_kmap() functions. It removes the dependencies on TTM and cleans up the code. --- drivers/gpu/drm/mgag200/mgag200_cursor.c | 35 +++++++++++------------- drivers/gpu/drm/mgag200/mgag200_drv.h | 1 - drivers/gpu/drm/mgag200/mgag200_fb.c | 22

mgag200 driver does not work properly with Xen
When using Xen Hypervisor, the video goes very slow after module load in console. Xorg does not run. My boot process (in kernel 3.7.1 from elrepo, my default kernel.): 1. Hypervisor is loaded (from here, the screen resolution is 640x480 - text scrolling fast) 2. Kernel is loaded 3. mgag200 module is loaded 4. Screens enter native resolution (from here, the screen resolution is 1280x768 - text

[PATCH 5/5] drm/mgag200: Replace struct mga_fbdev with generic framebuffer emulation
This patch replaces mgag200's framebuffer console with DRM's generic implememtation. All respective code is being removed from the driver. The console is set up with a shadow buffer. The actual buffer object is not permanently pinned in video ram, but just another buffer object that the driver moves in and out of vram as necessary. The driver's function mga_crtc_do_set_base() used to
