Installing winetools
When trying to install Microsoft Foundation Classes I find that winetools gets stuck on the mfc40.dll download. I can download mfc40.dll via my broswer, however. Where to stick this file, so that winetools can find it, and not need to download from dlldump.com? I'm on Ubuntu with the KDE desktop installed, if that matters. Thanks. DDE problems
Hi! I started using wine (wine-20020122 compiled from source tarball) a couple of weeks ago to run a store-point-of-sale application. The idea is to port this windows application to linux. Before porting, we decided to check if the app could be emulated on linux with wine or recompiled with winelib. This is also necessary to run proprietary windows DLLs from third parties such as credit card

I'm running: the latest wine release (20020228) Redhat 7.2 gcc 2.96-98 fake windows dir (altough I have tried it with a win98 install a month ago) The installer is an installshild with win16 libs. I had codeweavers 20010305 installed and our application sort of running under it. I wanted

wine and winetools on freebsd
This is the results of my attempts to install a working wine system on freebsd using winetools. I've downloaded the last wine from ports (0.9.3,1) and the last winetools .tar.gz (0.9joIII). I had to patch the wt0 script because it didn't work on freebsd. Attached you'll find the diff which I strongly encourage to include in the next version of winetoos. I've managed to setup

Question about __wine_dbg_vprintf
I just build Wine-20020605 from source using gcc-3.1.1 (20020701 snapshot), binutils-1.12.1, glibc-2.2.5 on Slackware 8.0 w/ 2.4.18 kernel, XFree86 4.0.3 and Mesa 4.0.3 installed. I used "tools/wineinstall" to do the build and install and when I try to verify the installed wine version, I get the error below: tom@linux:~$ wine --version wine: relocation error:

libntdll.dll.so
Hello, I am quite new in this, and I have not been able to figure out what the problem can be after looking at the documentation for quite a long time. I guess that it will be a stupid mistake, though. I have RedHat9.0 and have installed wine with the .rpm for this distribution available at sourceforge.net. When I try to execute the binaries 'wine' or 'winecfg' I get the

LoadOEMResource crash [Was: Re: Problem report: SHRINKER.ERR, fix to DEVICE_Open/CreateFileA? ]
Hi Pavel, Right, my app also crashes in a different place under winedbg, although it crashes in the same winedbg place under gdb. I took a closer look at wine --winver nt40 --debugmsg +all. I found something interesting. If I search for queue_exception, I find that there is an exception raised before the LoadOEMCall, about 328klines in: 0806d398:Call

I installed another app, but it wouldn't run until I moved Mfc40.dll into the system folder. I didn't change the config file, but the app now works. Tempting a mental breakdown, I then installed another app, but got these messages during the installation: "Setup is registering installed files" in one msg dialog, and: MHCMB032.OCX MHLABL32.OCX MHLIST32.OCX MHTEXT32.OCX

problems with winedbg
Hi list, updating wine to current cvs shows that stg could be broken in winedbg. Running programs that crash and go to debugger make winedbg jump nowhere in winedbg's data. This happens with several programs I tested (windows / dos programs), and the backtrace is always the same. The programs all complain about a read access fault at 0x0815cbe4 (yes, always the same adress) and show this
