Menu rotation
Hi,
FrameBuffer has the option "fbcon=rotate:1".
Could a similar functionality be implemented in the video driver (VBE?)
that is used by Syslinux?
Is it legal to copy that code from the FBCon portion into the Syslinux
video driver portion?
If so, where should I start looking?
Thanks for all your help.

I'm not a coder, I just replied to your question. As far as I know, there
is no bootloader that actually does this... maybe GRUB 2 with some UEFI
"magic"... just speculating.

[menu] Bug: 'cm' is used before it is initialized
Hi,
I'm seeing a problem on my system where the PXELINUX (and also the ISOLINUX) keep on prompting me the "Initial menu has no LABEL
entries!" message, when vesamenu.c32 or menu.c32 is executed.
After some investigation, I found that the global cm used in menu_main before it is initialized, and hence it carries a NULL value. I manage to get my system to display the menu after I

OK, so, with unpatched official binaries:

Alternating boot default entry every reboot
Hi,
I am currently using isolinux (syslinux-6.03) in a clonezilla setup. It
boots fine, however I want to have a setup where the default boot selection
alternates every boot.
* First boot : Default is menu item 0
* Second boot : Default is menu item 1
* Third boot : Default is menu item 0
...
The idea is that when it is booted into clonezilla the clonezilla script

booting clonezilla *.iso via PXE fails
Hallo,
I'm just trying to boot a Clonezilla *.iso (live-20100521-lucid) via
PXE;
Label clonezilla
kernel memdisk
append iso raw
initrd iso/clonezilla.iso
The first step is ok - I see the boot menu of the *.iso.
When I choose "Clonezilla live" the system fails with
Isolinux: Disk error 02, AX = 4224, drive E0
when I choose "freedos" it fails with

Clonezilla SE with CentOS5
Hi all,
I'm looking for a cloning solution for our Windows/Linux/*nix computer park
and ran into Clonezilla. Apparantely the DRBL and other documentation
mentions CentOS as a suitable base for it.
Does anybody on this list use this solution and can say something about it
in the running-Clonezilla-with-CentOS-context, be it recommendations,
gotchas', warnings or whatever?
Thanks.

Create CentOS 6 system as "clone" of another - with LVM and different disk sizes
Hi,
I just found myself having to set up a new CentOS 6 system with a nearly
identical configuration to an existing host, so I thought I would just
1. Do a minimal install to set up partitions etc. on the new system.
2. Create an image of the existing system using Clonezilla
(http://www.clonezilla.org)
3. Run a Clonezilla restore on the new system.
- as I though it would be a lot

no display what can I try.
I have an odd issue.
I have one machine that does not display to the monitor when it goes
to a linux boot loader.
It has the issue with grub and pxelinux.
I see the bios but between bios and graphics driver I see a blank screen.
Any recommendations on how to fix it?
More to it. It is a newer nvidia card, That I need to drive a 4K
monitor at 60Hz . If I replace it with an old nvidia card I can

no display what can I try.
I want to see things, I'm not sure how quiet would work.
Maybe next time I get the box I can re-put in the older working card
and try to do a firmware upgrade.
This does not seem distro specific. All versions of grub and syslinux
do not work in the default configs.
I will try using menu.c32 vs vesamenu.c32 as well. To see if it won't display.

clonezilla
The clonezilla live project is a really nice way to do image-copies of
machines:
http://clonezilla.sourceforge.net/clonezilla-live/
but it's based on a Debian live OS which has some unfamiliar quirks.
Has anyone built something like this on a Centos base?
For anyone who hasn't seen it, it can do whole disk or partition copies
of windows and most Linux filesystems and it knows enough to
