Memdisk and big floppy images
Dear Syslinux folks, For a firmware update I am following the Gentoo Wiki [1] to create a floppy image of 20 MB, so that the vendor update utility fits. Unfortunately, FreeDOS does not load, and it seems to hang loading the FreeDOS kernel. The original FreeDOS image boots. Do you know if that issue is memdisk related? It?s started from GRUB with the commands below. linux16 /boot/memdisk

Question about hdt and UEFI
If I remember correct HDT is a .C32 executable and not .EFI, so no it will not work. syslinux-6.04-pre2
Hi all, It has been the case for quite a while that the master tree is unambiguously better than 6.03. I have thus tagged and pushed out a syslinux-6.04-pre2 release, however, due to the issues with continuing to keep the main archive on kernel.org, I have moved the release archive to: https://www.zytor.com/pub/syslinux/ Other than the URL, there is no difference from the kernel.org archive.

Memdisk and big floppy images
In other words: I'm suggesting to use WinImage as it also allows easy injection of new files *and* updating of already existing files. May I ask which vendor is distributing a DOS FW update that is 20MB? I'd like to see the files. Sometimes you just need the .bin/.rom and the actual FW update EXE and it would fit a 5MB FDD image. Okay, thanks. I just tried 6.01-pre1, downloading the .xz file. But that won't build because the gnu-efi directory is empty. ?? Question about hdt and UEFI
You mind to elaborate? I'd like to re-use HDT as well, but I was forced to abandon it years ago due to lack of UEFI support and lack of development. Heck even the website hdt-project is now owned by a domain-grabber (The Syslinux wiki is still linking to it when I check 3 weeks ago... might want to remove that link). isolinux 6.04-pre3-3-g05ac953 - failed to load ldlinux.c32
Hi, We have been using isolinux 3.75 for a while now, to support pxelinux and UEFI we were going to update to 6.03, but seeing 6.04 has but fixes, decided to go with 6.04-pre3. First, is that about read for a "make official' ? Second, I did have to modify gnu-efi/inc/efilinks.h for the build to complete (had to remove the (intptr_t) which doesn't belong in EFI/EDK). So I've

syslinux-6.04-pre3 botched
I think I botched syslinux-6.04-pre3. There are two fundamental problems with the build: a) The selection of what pieces of the library gets included in the core is done manually whereas it really should be automatic; b) The build doesn't fail if there are unresolved dependencies between the libraries and the core. I will fix these. (b) is IMO fundamental to avoid this error in the

help booting iso's?
Hi. I prefer using the syslinux boot loader and recently undertook a project of creating a multiboot USB drive that boots using syslinux. The aim is to create a medium from which various live linux environments can be run for things like system maintenance, installation, and perhaps demonstration. I anticipate using this multiboot USB drive on mostly legacy, BIOS systems, if that matters. As

Mixed binary and source/building files in 6.04-pre3
> The end result was that I ended up refactoring much of the tree so that it now It is known that, since version 6.00, the binary files are located under: _ ./bios/ _ ./efi32/ _ ./efi64/ Those directories should _only_ include binary files and documentation. IOW, source code and/or (temporary) building files should not be in there. Within those subdirectories, the new 6.04-pre3 has a mix

Since Syslinux 6.00, the respective binary files (e.g. boot loaders, installers, Syslinux modules,...) are located under respective "./bios/", "./efi32/",

EFI32, EFI64 on one disk
Hello, i would like create a bootdisk , that can be boot from Old BIOS, EFI32 and EFI64. But for EFI Boot there is only one directory /EFI/BOOT/ In this directory I can copy BOOTia32.EFI and BOOTx64.EFI. But the *.c32 files for EFI32 & EFI64 , I can install to this directory at the same time. Is there a way to load the *.c32 from different directory ? Or is there a other solution ?

Creating Syslinux UEFI usb boot
I am looking for guides on how to create syslinux uefi bootable usb. A syslinux bootable usb is created already with vesamenu and luascripting. Want to set up the same thing to be UEFI compatible. In this case I am booting an vmware esxi installer. /EFI/boot on the vmware ISO has the files?BOOTX64.EFI and?BOOTIA32.EFI that can be used on the usb. But these always go directly to boot.cfg,
