EFI 64bit and Kernel 32 bit
Thank you for the info, I tested the latest version Syslinux 6.03 (64 bit) and it didn't work. the boot loader text shows up, then the screen freezes. maybe it works only on some specific boards/CPUs. Thank you for the reply's, the problem is now solved by using another Bootloader. Best Regards, On 29.10.18 15:29, Letan Thomas wrote: > I was able to successfully boot 32-bit

Dear R-helpers, I have been trying to carry out some variance ratio tests such as Lo-MacKinlay test and Chow-Denning test. However, When I write the function LM <- Lo.Mac(y,kvec) or any other functions I don’t get the results displayed. The only sign I get is < I don’t understand what’s wrong (is it the package, misspecification of the function, Vista). I am really stuck in and I would be

Indeed, the fix is in 6.04-pre1 but not 6.03. EFI 64bit and Kernel 32 bit
I was able to successfully boot 32-bit kernels with a 64-bit syslinux two years ago. There were a bug in syslinux that prevented it, but I was able to write a patch which is now in the latest tagged version as far as I remember. [OT]: Require suggestions - GSM Gateway <-> Asterisk
Hello, I am looking for ideas and suggestions. I want to use a 16 port GSM gateway as a trunk for outbound/inbound. I will also have two PSTN phone lines coming into the Asterisk server. All calls will go to an IVR on the Asterisk PBX. Outbound from extensions will route to GSM-GW when the dialed number matches a pattern set in the GSM-GW trunk. And accordingly for the PSTN trunks. But that's

Misc notes concerning view_paths
Hi all, I''ve been playing in the trunk with putting stuff in different dirs to keep files from a reusable framework separate from the app files. Here are a few considerations regarding the view_paths setting: config.view_path is used to set both action_controller.view_paths and action_mailer.template_root. We get some buggy/unexpected behavior here because

xorriso or genisoimage syntax assistance
I got this figured out much faster than I thought I would. Thanks to all of your help, Peter, Mattias, Thomas and Helmut. And Thomas, that 8 partition live OS sounds right up my alley, and I will definitely check it out. The second partition is working well with `parted' and `fdisk', so I am quite pleased. Below is, again, "what I came up with". I tried to integrate each of your

ext3 0.0.7a OK for linux 2.2.20?
Hello, Now that kernel 2.2.20 is out with security fixes, I'd be interested in using it with ext3. The latest patch for 2.2.19, 0.0.7a, applies with some offset (both with and without kdb), and even compiles (without kdb), but I scarcely know what I am doing so haven't tried it yet. Could people in the know enlighten me on that point? I guess there is little chance for another ext3

Pioneer DVD-120s probe problem
Hello, I'm building a new system for a friend and I bought a Pioneer DVD-120s drive for him because it was a newer version of the drive I use (DVD-116) and my friend uses (DVD-106s) with FreeBSD. The problem is that FreeBSD cannot probe the drive for some reason. I've tried twiddling the ATAPI_DMA bit, rescanned the drive, and toyed with the cable, but nothing seems to work. The

R/S and large datasets - Database access (also Re: SAS and S/R)
A consensus seems to emerge : R would excel to exploratory work on small/middle-sized datasets, while SAS would be able to munch much larger datasets. However, I see the "size" problem as a red herring. The objects that have to stay "in core" are usually much smaller than the dataset. For example, for problems involving fixed-effects linear models, you need only some

Upgrade 4.8 to 4.9 with Backend-Change to lmdb?
Yes, Ive fixed 1 of the 2 problems at install. Im testing fix 2 atm, and ask @technical for extra info. There are 2 bugs with the upgrade of 4.8 to 4.9. For others, please note, i've only tested this on debian with the debian packages (experimental) and my own packages. Bug 1) at install samba is unable to start due to : a change (commit) 0b261dc4e3f2 in 4.9 that requires to have

EFI 64bit and Kernel 32 bit
> is it possible to boot a 32 Bit Kernel on 64 EFI firmware with Syslinux? In theory, booting 32-bit kernels from 64-bit EFI is supposed to be supported by "efi64/efi/syslinux.efi" since 2013Jun. In practice: _ there is no documentation in The Syslinux Project regarding the matter (other than the commit from Matt Fleming); _ no one has reported success with this case (only

codec review
An article was posted at www.slashdot.org on May 4th about another review of video codecs. The review can be found at: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/codecs-103-1.htm Theora was not one of the seven codecs included in the review. I wonder how much of a window of opportunity exists before the industry stabilizes on a dominant, widely used video codec. The situation still seems to be fairly

switching back to Xorg from a terminal fails
Since I use latests Nvidia beta drivers, Xorg 7.1 and Compiz 0.3.2 from Freedesktop, I have been having problem when I switch back to X from another terminal. For example, I startx and launch Compiz without problems, everythings works fine, then I need to switch to another terminal, so I use Ctrl+Alt+F2. When I switch back to X with Ctrl+Alt+F7, I get a blank screen where I can only see and move
