syslinux PXE boot version upgrade, network no longer working
My ?default? was just a sample to prevent further tl;dr :)
Right, by 2014 I meant 6.03. I didn?t notice in the docs this was a known issue. If keeppxe is a bug with 6.03, that?s likely my issue. Do I drop back to 6.02 or X? Which version?
Thanks,
David

Ghostcast random freeze.
Greetings again,
I am experiencing a lockup when ghost casting about 1 out of 5 client machines locks up. I don't recall if I was having this issue when I was using 3com pxe menus or not. I was wondering if the issue I am seeing could be caused by pxelinux since it basically is loading a Linux kernel then booting a MSDos.imz file. I cannot find any errors from the ghostcast side or the

syslinux PXE boot version upgrade, network no longer working
Thanks Ady. I have to stick with stable vs. experimental but I
appreciate the Debian suggestion.
I don't mean to troll anyone, but... how is 6.03 considered stable if
it does not correctly support keeppxe? I have to go all the way back
to 4.xx for this to be supported? Wow. I still couldn't find it in
the docs online where it states keeppxe doesn't work. I have some

Help Memdisk + Pxelinux hangs
Hello,
I am a *nix newbie
I am trying to boot a DOS boot disk using PXE (to Ghost on windows
images).
We have an existing PXE server which successfully serves out PXElinux and
Fedora builds based on that but my floppy disk image with memdisk isn't
working
I have tried a few different floppy images which people have posted as
ones that work for them but I doubt the disk is the problem

USB Thumbdrive + dos ghost boot image + drive too small = confusion
I will really hate myself if this has already been solved, i searched
the archives but didn't really find anything pertaining to it.
I have a 2.88mb dos boot floppy image, with ghost.exe, dos nic
drivers, and dos system files. It works fine when burnt to a cd.
As for the thumbdrive when trying to configure this hpghost.ima file
to run from my syslinux.cfg menu, it works and boots up fine
but

KEEPPXE/DOS
First off I love syslinux and it has worked flawless for us on the unix side of the realm.
We're trying to use our ghost images within a dos netboot using syslinux. Unfortunatly we can only pass DHCP ip's to hosts that exhibit a vendor code 'like windows/pxe/and other os's do". Unfortunatly DOS does not, so we cannot request a second IP after the pxe process to map samba

bug (I think) in gpxelinux.0 ?
Hi,
Currently I am building a new PXE boot environment and during that I noticed
something odd while attempting to boot using one of those universal
netbootdisks based on the '3Com Universal NDIS driver v1.00' (aka undis3c)
driver.
Using pxelinux.0 this works like a charm, but when I switch to gpxelinux.0
the 3Com driver bails out on me... all other configuration is the same. Have

memdisk question
Hello,
I am using syslinux 3.63 and I am trying to get an image file going for
ghost. I was able to get the unicast image working by using winimage
and creating the format for the image as 2.88mb and saving the boot
sector as win 95/98.
I tried the same thing with a ghost multicast image and it doesn't work,
says invalid system disk..
Lots are variables so I am not sure where

using winimage, create a custom image size using total number of

change boot sector properties to win 95/98
and save the file to the isolinux directory as floppy.ima
then using isolinux.cfg file add this

Syslinux 3.70 - BSS DOS boot says: "Could not find kernel Image: linux".
Hello, I'm trying to create and boot a Win98SE-DOS OS through Hard Disk emulation. My src files are from a Win98SE 1440K floppy image file, with a x86 boot sector (dl'd from the net - I have no floppy drive and a slow net link 3.2KB).
I don't know what to put into the partition boot record of my image and how to load dos.bss properly (the docs explain for floppy images not for HD

I would suggest trying Debian's "experimental" binaries (which include
potentially-relevant patches for keeppxe), including all its "bios" lib*.c32
files (beware not to mix with the efi

A HowTo guide?
I've very new to this... what I want to achieve, is to have my clients
network boot - and then be presented with a menu, allowing them *well,
me* to choose what to do.
Maybe, boot from the main hard disk, or boot a disk image from a samba
share, or maybe even boot a CD image, instead of having the actual CD in
the drive.
Also, I would want to be able to change this menu, without actually

Problem with Symantec's UNDI driver and PXELINUX
Hello,
We use undi_drv.exe that is provided with Symantec Ghost Enterprise.
This driver loads a UNDI PXE stack into memory. It, along with a UNDI
packet driver are bundled into a 1.44MB disk image that we use for
netbooting computer lab machines into the ghost client. This is done
with pxelinux.
This driver has been working fine for a couple years now. Recently, I
upgraded the pxelinux.0 to
