Aren't you using Debian? AFAIK jessie supports i586, so if Pentium is
old enough for you you're good to go for likely at least two more
years.
After that I guess I'd be using old unsupported Debians for the
ancient ones. I don't have this old hw on the

Get MEMDISK parameters from WinPE 32/64-bit?
Hi.
I'm working on replacing a PXELINUX/MEMDISK loaded DOS based
installation image with a PXELINUX/MEMDISK loaded WinPE ISO image. So
far everything seems to work well (appending "bigraw" to memdisk solved
booting problems on several machines), but I kind of miss the option of
using getargs.com to get/set environment variables from the memdisk
command line.
Is there any way to

Urgent hardware help needed
Hello all,
First of all, sorry to beg...
If anyone has the ability to get me some specific hardware quickly, this
would be incredibly helpful right now...
The server which runs all my stuff blew its motherboard yesterday, and I
have since replaced the CPU, motherboard, memory, and case.
Unfortunately, the memory appears to be flaky, and it's apparently hard
to find the appropriate type

pnorm, relative accuracy in the tails
Dear R people
The function below should be decreasing, convex, and tend to zero when x
tends to infinity.
curve((1-pnorm(x))/dnorm(x),from=0, to=9)
>From the plot we see that for x between 8.0 and 8.3 the function is
fluctuating.
As far as I understand, this is due to the function pnorm() not being
sufficiently accurate in the tails.
I am using pnorm() in a way that has probably not been

A plea for help. I''m following the instructions here:

I have everything working on my main machine, but my laptop is refusing

have the output below.
The mysql gem is installed, and a test program can talk to the database

trouble building at efi/check-gnu-efi.sh
ok I'm not building from git; I just downloaded/extracted "syslinux-6.03.tar.gz" into a directory and build it from there.
Now I've erased the "> /dev/null 2>&1 " from check-gnu-efi.sh and I'm getting.
fatal: Not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git
