[PATCH] Fix for crash with certain EFIs
Thank you very much for this, I have been running into this issue a number
of times but could never get a firm grip on it.
Especially HP Gen9 proliants seem to suffer from it by sometimes throwing a
stack dump very early in the boot. In the past we worked around it by
forcing bios boot.
After rebuilding it with -mno-red-zone the problem appears to be fixed, at
least after a couple of hours of

Windows 10 point and print restriction
Hi Louis, Hi Achim,
on windows 10 i removed the 3176493 which is on windows 7 / 8 3177725. It has no effect on restriction.
Its always restricted.
Sven

Best way to give guest promiscuous interface?
I am using CentOS 5.5 with KVM as a host and have a need for one guest
to be able to have promiscuous read access to one port on the physical
host (which is an HP BL460 G6 blade server with Intel 2 port 1Gb
ethernet mezzanine card.)
I initially tried to use PCI passthrough, but I was unable to get it
to work. I set everything up as documented in RHEL documentation

Accents and special character using hwriter (on Windows)
Hello,
I have a problem with special characters such as "?" or "?" when using
hwriter. This only happens when I use windows, it works fine on mac. If I
do:
print(datosdv)
"Ciencias Sociales y Jur?dicas n:74 | 33.94%"
but:
hwrite(datosdv, p, br=TRUE)
"Ciencias Sociales y Jur?dicas n:74 | 33.94%"
The bad sign is in the code, is not a problem of the

DO NOT buy the newer HPE DL20 gen9 or ML10 gen9 servers then (especially if using CentOS 6.x)
I don't use hardware raid (mdadm for the win!) so cannot speak to that.
DL20, bought it on a stock 'B' sale. Great price. Works well on Windows. HPE doesn't sell hard drive trays, etc. You pretty much have to buy their equipment.
You CAN get 3rd party parts (drive trays, etc.) but will

Latest updates (including firmware) for the HP ML350 Gen9 were released

Good to know about the HPE and Dell "gotchas", thanks to those who posted.
I can speak to SuperMicro (11 systems, mostly X9 and X10). Hardware seems to be fine, management utilities (IPMI - like iLO) are more basic. The real heartburn right now is that the browsers for Linux have pretty much dropped NPAPI which means remote console doesn't work since it needs Java. They have

EFI: HP + syslinux = crash
In another mail I discussed my adventures on netbooting syslinux 6.03
and newer from iPXE, either from an emulated rom on qemu/kvm/ovmf or by
chainloading via ipxe.efi onto a real HP Proliant DL360 gen9 piece of
iron. You might have asked yourself, why chainload? Why not load it
directly? Believe me, i tried.
First I had to 'fix' my dhcpd.conf because HP probably read the docs on

Changed attributes for a file in destination that is hard linked get propagated to --link-dest directories
Folks,
Thinking again about the issue of
changed attributes for a file in source that is identical in content
to a file in destination that is hard linked get propagated to the
--link-dest directories
I would like to suggest a new flag, (perhaps called something like
--preserve-linked-attributes), to allow callers to get the
behaviour that is needed to allow the use of recycled

I just put a call into AT&T Office 365 asking them to explain the spoof warning thing...
To answer your question....
At the moment, no I can't. I like HPE stuff, we bought a DL380 gen9 say five months ago and totally happy with it. In fairness, its running Server 2012 r2 too but I didn't run into the hardware gotchas I did on the other stuff. It just seems HPE skimped on their lower
