poor network performance on domU
Hi all, I recently started with Xen (3.1.0) on my new server running Ubuntu Gutsy (7.10) and I''m experiencing very poor network performance on my domU''s. Since my colo provider offers me a /28 of routed public IPs next to one interconnection IP to their routers, I built a Xen configuration as described in http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/360 (a routed

vesamenu causing screen lock-up
Dear all, I have recently been playing with vesamenu.c32. It seems to work quite well on my hardware test machines. However, it's not really working as expected on VMWare-based test machines. (It's really nice to have a slick background image!) As soon as i choose an option and boot a linux kernel, the menu does not go away. Instead i'm left with an unresponsive menu stuck om the

UEFI and PXE
Once upon a time, Steven Tardy <sjt5atra at gmail.com> said: > The ?ICMP unreachable? should be a dead giveaway. . . You cut out the part of the email where the OP said that the UEFI system was ignoring the next-server part of the DHCP reply and trying to TFTP to the DHCP server instead of the TFTP server. Of course that got ICMP unreachable, but it isn't a firewall problem. To the

Problem with DHCP and default route in CentOS
I have a CentOS 6.4 VM that is getting its DHCP information from dnsmasq (a libvirt instance). However, it is not applying the routing information. Attached is a tcpdump of the dhcpc output. You'll see: Default-Gateway Option 3, length 4: 192.168.122.1 However, when I run 'route -n', I get: # route -n Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask

EFI & PXE-booting: very slow TFTP performance on a VMWare test setup
Dear people on the Syslinux Mailinglist, Are there any known problems with the performance of TFTP in (U)EFI environments in general or maybe just on VMWare? Right now I'm running tests on two virtual environments using either VMWare Workstation 11.1.0 on a Fedora 21 system or VMWare Player 7.1.0 on an Ubuntu 14.10 system. Both virtual systems support PXE booting in UEFI mode. Both systems
