RFC: Feature: MENU HIDDEN behaviour on ANY key
Hello, Here's a small enhancement feature for menu.c32. Looking for feedback before starting any coding (not sure when I'll have time for implementation) Regards, Dany St-Amant *Problem statement* When MENU HIDDEN is used on an headless server, any noise on the serial console can interrupt the boot; it would be preferable if there only specific keys were allowed to interrupt, reducing

Does not auto boot after time out
I am having difficulty trying to figure out how to get a computer to boot from it's local disk automatically after the pxe menu times out. I installed syslinux-3.11-4 with yum onto CentOS 5.5 It boots to the local disk if I select Local from the menu and press enter but it never times out and boots localy. The AUTOBOOT message doesn't appear either. Which instructions in the PXELINUX

bug or user error - menu.c32 in syslinux-3.62-pre11
Im trying to use newer simple-menu features, and have found that the following config-file (closely based on wiki pxelinux example) - fails for 3.62-pre11, - works for 3.62-pre10 where 'working' is successive reloads such that re-edits of file are seen on next reload and broken is issuing this error: Initial menu has no LABEL entries! boot: #>

pxelinux 5.00-pre6 sub menu not working
Hello I just tested my pxelinux installation with 5.00-pre6. For the installation I did first the same steps as I did with 4.05. I copied the following files out of the archive into my /tftpboot folder: syslinux-5.00-pre6/core/pxelinux.0 syslinux-5.00-pre6/com32/menu/menu.c32 syslinux-5.00-pre6/memdisk/memdisk With only this files, it was not working and I also had to copy this two

max of MENU ROWS?
Hi, I've seem to hit the roof of "MENU ROWS". I've got 15 entries in the menu, and thus I've set "MENU ROWS 15" in my cfg. But that makes the TABMSG get partly written over the last entry. Also, the AUTOBOOT message gets written over the bottom border of the menu. I get these results with boot versions 3.62 and 3.70 of syslinux. Is this a bug, or is it possible

Menu entry shifts to the right, when using "{,x}"
Hi,... my linux distribution is "arch-linux" and I use syslinux 6.03 to boot this system. I have the following line in syslinux.cfg: "MENU AUTOBOOT Automatischer Start in # Sekunde{,n}" While the boot timer counts down, on the last second the menu shifts to the right (one less character to display). This is completely harmless, but is very annoying, once you have seen it. I

Configuration question for syslinux 3.11 menu and ontimeout option
I just started to play with syslinux 3.11 and have some problems with the configuration. I want to implement following: wait 5 seconds till the users chooses the right label. if nothing is done for 5 seconds it should boot from next boot device specified by the BIOS. I configured syslinux like that: default menu.c32 prompt 0 timeout 50 ONTIMEOUT localboot totaltimeout 200 display boot.msg MENU

Help for setting up windows unattended installation
Hi. I have looked at PXElinux<http://www.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php?title=PXELINUX> to understand all this, but I'm very sorry I don't. I have managed to setup to boot from PXELinux, but I'm not an expert on how to setup a menu file for making a windows unattended installation. Could someone help me with that? Is there some kind of a forum for this or is it just by email?

[GIT PULL] elflink fixes
Peter, Paulo reported some problems with his config files under ISOLINUX and PXELINUX - basically TIMEOUT and TOTALTIMEOUT were broken. The patches I've pushed to the elflink branch fix this and also fix parsing of the ALLOWOPTIONS config directive. extlinux >= 5.01 menu.c32 timeout doesn't work
Hi, I am using qemu for testing new versions of syslinux before installing on an embedded computer. Everything works fine under qemu (1.5.0), so I updated extlinux from 4.06 to 5.11-pre3 on the computer. I found that the autostart's timeout does not work. The timeout value is correct but nothing happens. It worked well with extlinux 4.06... I tried with extlinux 5.01, 5.10, 5.11-pre3 and

PATCH: Let "dhcp" command iterate over interfaces like autoboot()
Hello all, I was reading http://www.etherboot.org/wiki/appnotes/autobootchainurl, and figured that as long as I was going to be modifying the code I might as well try a cleaner solution. ?Attached to this message is a patch that makes the following changes: 1) Allow the "dhcp" command to accept a list of interfaces and to try them in order until it succeeds, e.g.: ?gPXE> dhcp net0
