Observations on SVD linpack errors, and a workaround
Lately I'm getting this error quite a bit: Error in La.svd(x, nu, nv) : error code 1 from Lapack routine 'dgesdd' I'm running R 2.5.0 on a 64 bit Intel machine running Fedora (8 I think). Maybe the 64 bit platform is more fragile about declaring convergence. I'm seeing way more of these errors than I ever have before. From R-Help I see that this issue comes up from time to

[libnbd PATCH 7/7] states: Capture NBD_REP_ERR message
Similar to the earlier patch for structured reply errors, it's worth logging (at least through debug) any error messages that the server sends alongside NBD_REP_ERR. And given our earlier changes, it doesn't really impact the size of struct nbd_handle. --- generator/states-newstyle-opt-go.c | 5 ++-- .../states-newstyle-opt-set-meta-context.c | 6 +++-

Average skyline plot from newick trees stored
Dear all, Does anyone know how can one loop through the newick phylogenetic trees stored in a nexus file and generate an "average" skyline plot with coalescent intervals? I have managed to generate the plot with one tree, but is it possible to create that "consensus/average" plot in R? tr<-"((((8.1:0, 20.1:0):0, 6.1:3):123, (((((35.1:0, (22.1:0, (43.1:1,

Perl Script for pulling information from a mysql database
Here''s the script. I would have posted it to a website, but I figure this''ll be better so it is always on the list for people in the future in case they wanted to see it. Re: Problem using virt-sysprep with RBD images
Hello Richard, Thanks for the reply. Indeed this behaviour exists in 1.25.6. Grepping through the source [1], there are a number of files in "./po/*.po[t]?" that contain this message, but I think it's ./src/drives.c where the fail condition is actually detected / set. On line 300 there is an if statement that checks the first character is a slash: if (exportname[0] !=

Lastest upgrade of smb on RedHat doesn't work
The latest upgrade of from samba 3.0.9 to samba 3.0.10 has caused problems on my samba server. On the Windows computers you can no longer see the WINS server ( the RedHat server) in the Network Neighborhood, say server1. The printers that we have added through the network neighborhood no longer work. One has to search for the full name of the server ( server1.xxx.xxx.edu) with the
