fst - err:dosmem:setup_dos_mem
I've installed (maybe not sucessfully) wine 20041201, fst 1.6 and
jack_fst-1.2.
I'm using jack-0.99
When I try and execute jack_fst such as:
#jack_fst Crystal.dll
I receive the following error:
err:dosmem:setup_dos_mem Cannot use first megabyte for DOS address

can't connect to JACK
I assume that the first error message is from wine. Is that true? I

Managed windows
I find that for most applications, having managed="Y" is best, but for
some applications I'd like to be able to launch them managed="N". I've
been googling and it seems that in the past this was possible with a
command line parameter, but it seems that this is no longer available.
I'm using the 20050524 (i think) version of wine. Is there anyway for
me to launch

Quick fix for jack_fst?
Hi guys,
Starting a new thread because the old one got very long...
I think that the information in the wine developer's guide at these two
pages is relevant here:
http://www.winehq.com/site/docs/wine-devel/address-space
http://www.winehq.com/site/docs/wine-devel/initialization
It seems that wine_init imposes some Windows-style memory constraints, and
the big memory patch probably had some

TmMidity
In trying to get NoteWorthy Composer working on my box (Mandrake 10.0,
Gnome 2.4) I found a webboard for NWC under Linux (on wine). Following
advice, I downloaded and compiled TiMidity. Unfortunately, when I try
to follow the instructions given on the board, I get the following result

Abacus DOS problem Lock Selector
A lawyer in California is trying to change to linux. In CA, there are a
number of programs required by the courts, and so far none are ported to
linux at any price. His reason for wishing to change has to do with the
fact that Microsoft now controls his access to his own files, and he finds
this unacceptable.
I tried one of his apps, an old DOS version of Abacus. Using the WINe with

I am trying to run the PowerPrep GRE studying software (from www.gre.com)

complains:

Wine running on Solaris?
Hi guys,
has any of you succeeded in compiling and running Wine under Solaris 8?
If so, which version?
Actually, I've ran through compilation (which itself was uneasy and a bit
tricky) but can't run a single application because most of them ends with
message like:

Need advice on which native dlls to try
Hi Folks!
I'm completely new to wine, so please be gentle with me!
I am trying to run Curious Labs' Poser4 under Tuesday's CVS snapshot on
RedHat 6.2 without any native DLLs so far. All I get is one of those famous
'Critical section 0x... wait timed out' errors. Conventional knowledge says
try some native DLLs - but which ones?
Here is a list of DLLs and modules loaded:

OK, what's the deal with the display, anyway ?
Does anyone have a consistent way to set the display for wine programs
to /anything/ (meaning something other than :0.0)? I have done the
followings:
ssh to the box I want to run the wine app from.
(As a result, DISPLAY was set to "tux:10.0")
I tried running
wine ./notepad.exe
from the Windows directory. This gave me the following:

Problems with Lotus Notes R5.0.12 under Wine 20050524
Hello all,
I have installed R5.0.12 on Red Hat Fedora Core 3, using Wine 20050524. I'm
getting a lot of FIXME messages but everything seems to be working fine.
Except for the following things:
1) Attachments are working fine, except for launching the attachment to
open directly in OpenOffice.org or Adobe Reader ... Most likely that this
is a WINE issue rather than a Lotus Notes/Under Wine

Wine suddenly stopped working on Suse 9.2
HI!
I don't know, what I possibly changed on my system, but Wine suddenly
does not work anymore on my Suse 9.2. I have tried several versions from
the end of 2004 until now (all RPMs for Suse 9.2) and I get the same
result with each of them.
If I use my old .wine, then this happens:
