caching information
Hi,
i was wondering if someone could reffer me to a good starting place for
understanding caching in general/caching in rails, aside from the
api.rubyonrails docs.
i have a page i want to cache, but how do i set it to uncache itself?
when does it do this? automaticly/set it/create uncache action?
either way the answer goes, a good refference is again, warmly welcomed.
thanks!

Changes made to main.c on implementing real time Rsync
Hi, All,
I am implementing real-time Rsync on Windows 2008 system. I set up Rsync
server and Rsync client on two machines. An windows service is watching all
the Windows file events with FileSystemWatcher. However, the service
cannot tell the exactly what happened to folders such as create, delete, or
modified. So, I ignored folder event, and only catch file changing events.
After I catch

Well, let's see. Running a rough grep on 270-message spam folder
# grep -E '^[-A-Za-z0-9]+:.*[^.0-9]{0,1}[0-9]{1,3}\.[0-9]{1,3}\.[0-9]{1,3}\.[0-9]{1,3}' ~/mail/FN | sort -u -k1,1 -t:

Cluster Analysis - Number of Clusters
Hello,
I'm playing around with cluster analysis, and am looking for methods to
select the number of clusters. I am aware of methods based on a 'pseudo
F' or a 'pseudo T^2'. Are there packages in R that will generate these
statistics, and/or other statistics to aid in cluster number selection?
Thanks,
John.

Port Forwarding
Is ''port forwarding'' a relatively new thing with packet filtering? Or has
it always been available since iptables appeared on the scene.

can a function alter the "..." argument and passed the result to another function?
Is there a way a function ('parent', say) can manipulate the ...
argument, and then pass the manipulated value into another function
('child', say) that it calls?
What I'm trying to do is to use some plotting defaults within 'parent'
that are not part of parent's argument list, but to let the use over-
ride these defaults if they choose. A sketch is below.

samba and passwords
I got a problem.
Samba is in place and working on my linux machine but when I try and use
Windows to map a drive
it asks for a password and doesn't know the one I enter.
How can I enter a new one, or find the one I currently have in place?

NLS and IV
Hello All,
I'm looking to test a variable in a logit model (glm(...,
binomial(link="logit"))) for exogeneity (endogeneity). At this point I am
planning to try implementing Jeffery Grogger's "A Simple Test for Exogeneity in
Probit, Logit, and Poisson Regression Models", Economic Letters, 1990. To do
this, I need to be able to do an instrumental variables NLS

ajax render_partial
Hi,
i was hoping someone could reffer me to a doc or an explination (i
haven''t found anything) for rendering a partial via an ajax request - -
i know i could probably do it via
link_to :action => x
and then
def x
render_partial ''y''
end
but i was hoping ther was something simpler, and more rails-like caller
such as
render_ajaxed_partial

Can anyone offer me some advice? (PS: I checked the bug list first
but a search on "Tiger" turned up nothing so I hope it's OK to post
here.)
