Single view over multiple tables
In my effort to learn rails, I''m writing a personal Information
Management "system". So, something where I can track passwords, credit
cards, ssn, drivers license, etc. What I have done, and perhaps not
correctly, is created a table for each category.
I want to create a master list page. One view that displays all the
data from the various tables by category. Do I fail

Reverse phone lookup service
Greetings to all.
We have developed an application for asterisk to accept creditcards
using the Authorize.net gateway.
I am looking at reverse phone lookup services in order to get the *full*
address of the caller (not just state, city).
This is a very low volume service as you can imagine so i would prefer
something with low or no minimums and a pay-as-you-go scheme.
An API would be a plus,

Has anyone any experience of getting the Paypal plug in to work?
I''ve set myself up on the Paypal sandbox, I''ve setup my sending and
receiving accounts, i''ve got the Paypal button on my view, I can go and
make payments ok, but I can''t get the Instant Payment Notification part

Subscription Payment Model
Ok, I''m new to the world of actually charging for software, and it''s
taken me a full month to decide how to charge in a way that doesn''t make
me sleep with difficulty at nights. :) If someone can look at this and
verify I''m on the right track or give any hints/tips, I''d greatly
appreciate it.
Basically, I want each user to be able to apply

available: lib for Paypal''s Payment data transfer
Hi,
following the discussion about Paypal''s IPN usage with leetsoft''s
paypal library, I''ve posted an addition to that library so you can use
Paypal''s Payment Data Transfer.
It''s largely inspired by, with some chinks even simply copied from,
the IPN code.
Downloadable at http://www.myowndb.com/files/payment_data.rb
I blogged about it at

Require problem with payment gem
I did a "gem install payment", version 1.0.1. The require statement in
my controller:
require ''payment/authorize_net''
...returns a "no file to load" error.
I ended up copying the files from the gem''s lib subfolder to my
application''s lib folder and everything worked from there. Doesn''t seem
right, though.
What am I missing

Payment calculations for fixed rate loans (Excel PMT func?)
All,
I need the Ruby equivalent of the Excel PMT function which will
calculate a monthly payment amount given an interest rate, a number of
months, and a present value of the loan amount.
Anyone know where I can find such a beast?
If someone can point me to the formula that Excel uses internally,
that''s fine too. I know it isn''t very complicated, but I def. don''t

Problem w/ActionWebService and Inheritance in Service Params
I have a service method that takes a PaymentMethod which can either be a
CreditCard or a PayPal account. When I request the service and pass one
or the other it always comes over as a PaymentMethod; the service
doesn''t seem to know that the parameter is really a CreditCard or
PayPal. Here''s some sample code that illustrates what I''m talking about
more concretely:
