[ANNOUNCE] xdm 1.1.15
xdm is a basic X11 display manager and GUI login screen. This release fixes a failure to build with the upcoming gcc 14, cleans up several other compiler warnings, fixes a bug in the generation of the xdm.service file for systemd, and removes a lot of dead code checks for platforms & features that have not been supported since the conversion from Imake to autoconf in 2005. Logins via winbind & ssh/xdm/... take a lot of time
Hi, I have a box running with samba 2.2.7 and winbind (nmbd and winbindd in use) to allow users of the local NT domain to login. The config files for PAM and /etc/nsswitch.conf have been configured correctly so logins are now possible using the local console (login), ssh, xdm and su. Almost everything works fine - everything but the time that is needed for the login process of an NT user to

prefdm still unfinished?
After testing the beta of CentOS 5, i was a little surprised to notice that the display manager part of the prefdm file in /etc/X11 was exactly like in CentOS 4 / RHEL4 and previous versions including RH9. it reads like this (added line numbers for reference): 14 # Run preferred X display manager 15 preferred= 16 if [ -f /etc/sysconfig/desktop ]; then 17 . /etc/sysconfig/desktop 18 if [

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Hello, I''m doing my first steps with Xen and have my first domU up now (Debian/sid under Debian/sid). The main problem I had, was to bring up the graphical desktop of the guest with vnc4server. The solution was simple - but not easy to find for me - so let me share it: Whenever I tried to login on xdm or gdm via xvnc4viewer coming from dom0, I found errors in .xsession-errors of

ext3 0.9.6 vs ext3 0.9.9
Hello, I have done extensive testing between 2.4.9 and 2.4.9-ac12 with ext3 0.9.6 and 0.9.9. I also tried using both kgcc and gcc-2.96. I have a problem with logging into xdm or starting the gnome-session totally locking up the machine while using ext3 0.9.9. It seems to go away using ext3-0.9.6. During xdm/gnome-session the hard disk is under heavy activity. I have attached my kernel config.

OpenBSM questions
Hello I have some issues with OpenBSM which i cannot resolve, so i decided to ask there. 1) I found some bugs in the auditreduce utility and created patch for it - http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=114534. Please, someone from freebsd team - take it, i think its better to fix this before next release. 2) I found that when i`m using XDM as login manager with OpenBSM, all my audit

VAD performance worse on version 1.2rc1 than 1.1.12
Thank you, but I am thinking about trying to move VAD implementation from 1.1.12 to 1.2. I'm not sure about how difficult it could be (maybe impossible due to Jean Marc has disappear). Have you tried this? Cecile. 2009/8/10 jesus <jmorion at toomeeting.com> > Hi Cecile, > > it seems it is a tabu theme, or nobody uses VAD on speex. I've tried > with external EasyVAD

VAD performance worse on version 1.2rc1 than 1.1.12
Hi Cecile, it seems it is a tabu theme, or nobody uses VAD on speex. I've tried with external EasyVAD solution but the result was not as spected. Other users of the list suggest an algorithm to filter voice based on the power of the signal, but of course, it is not a voice activity detection. I am waiting also a solution for this, while so I use version 1.1.12. Regards. Cecile Dumotier
