zfs diff performance
I had high hopes of significant performance gains using zfs diff in Solaris 11 compared to my home-brew stat based version in Solaris 10. However the results I have seen so far have been disappointing. Testing on a reasonably sized filesystem (4TB), a diff that listed 41k changes took 77 minutes. I haven''t tried my old tool, but I would expect the same diff to take a couple of

[PATCH v3 7/7] drm/vram: fix Kconfig
select isn't recursive, so we can't turn on DRM_TTM + DRM_TTM_HELPER in config DRM_VRAM_HELPER, we have to select them on the vram users instead. [PATCH 1/2] drm/ttm: Rename ttm_bo_global_{init, release}() to ttm_bo_global_ref_{, }()
The functions ttm_bo_global_init() and ttm_bo_global_release() do not receive an argument of type struct ttm_bo_global. Both take a struct drm_global_reference that contains points to a struct ttm_bo_global_ref. Renaming them reflects this. [PATCH v2 00/17] Share TTM code among DRM framebuffer drivers
Several simple framebuffer drivers copy most of the TTM code from each other. The implementation is always the same; except for the name of some data structures. As recently discussed, this patch set provides generic memory-management code for simple framebuffers with dedicated video memory. It further converts the respective drivers to the generic code. The shared code is basically the same

[PATCH v4 06/10] drm/gem: Use struct dma_buf_map in GEM vmap ops and convert GEM backends
This patch replaces the vmap/vunmap's use of raw pointers in GEM object functions with instances of struct dma_buf_map. GEM backends are converted as well. For most of them, this simply changes the returned type. TTM-based drivers now return information about the location of the memory, either system or I/O memory. GEM VRAM helpers and qxl now use ttm_bo_vmap() et al. Amdgpu, nouveau and

[PATCH 0/2][RESEND] Provide init/release functions for struct ttm_bo_global
TTM uses global memory and BO for backing graphics buffers. These are represented by struct ttm_mem_global and struct ttm_bo_global. Currently, struct ttm_bo_global can only be initialized and released through struct ttm_bo_global_ref. This is a workaround for passing an instance of ttm_mem_global to the BO global initialization code. The use of struct ttm_bo_global_ref makes driver code
