Issues with NVidia video driver and CentOS
Oh, this might be the issue - yum says it can't open
"nvidia-x11-drv-304xx-304.135-1.el6.elrepo.x86_64.rpm" - let me download it
again and see what happens.
Are there md5 hash sums on these files?

OpenGL drivers haven't been installed correctly
The BOINC project has a screensaver that runs on Windows. I installed BOINC in a virtual machine running Windows XP (32 bit) and copied boinc.scr from the C:\Windows directory onto my 64 bit F13 system. When I run the screensaver I get an error. Any feedback is appreciated. I can run glxgears without any problem.
$ wine boinc.scr

suggestions for createdump.sh improvements
Hi,
recently I've tried the script createdump.sh and I have some suggestions:
* it would be nice if the script is able to detect missing prerequisites and
to suggest to install appropriate packages (as with cvs), namely
- SDL-devel
- libXvMC-devel
(the names will differ from distro to distro, but it can make a good starting
point; other ones come as dependencies, at least in my case)

centos 5.3 install ncview X libraries error and netcdf header error
I was trying to install software named ncview on a centos 5.3 box.
./configure command gave this error:
Error, the X libraries and development headers must be installed for ncview
to work!
I was surprised that there were many google hits related to ubuntu, none for
centos. So even though I eventually figured out what to do, I decided to
share this with the list anyhow, so maybe next time I

installing 32 bit wine on 64 bit computer help
Hi,
I'm following the below instructions to install 32bit wine in 64bit fedora, and don't know in which folder I need to run the ./configure command. The yum install part went fine as far as I know, but I need to find where the configure script is located.
Thanks

Install wine, dependency problem, newbie woes
Downloaded wine from codeweavers and tried to install with Kpackage.
"Needs libXv.so.1" Tried locating lib* with Google, but Google
comes up with packages with different names. Maybe the lib I need is
part of a larger library. So, where to find what I need, and then what
to do with it (eg. just copy to /lib)??
Thanks in advance for clues,

Check on my website. :)
The rest of your stuff is easily dealt with by compiling the relevant Fedora rpms.

wine & RH7.0 - failed dependencies
Hi
I am using redhat 7.0 with the stock kernel. I downloaded the daily build
of wine last night from <http://www.linux-easy.com/daily>. I just tried
to install wine and it gave me the following messages:
