I download the ISO's and started the reinstall. It went through all the normal setup up to outputting the message that it was starting Anaconda. Then the screen went blank and stayed that way. This is the same symptom as when it

mach64 driver, latest update in CentOS 6.8, symbol lookup error
I am loading a server from the CentOS 6.7 ISO and then upgrading. After loading at release 6.7, the machine behaves normally. After running yum update, the X server will not start. Attempts to start it manually result in one of the following messages depending upon which OS is loaded. I initially loaded it as 64 bit and when that did not work I tried the 32 bit version of the OS. The

This is pre-release of the ATI driver aimed at 7.3. It doesn't contain randr1.2
support it does however contain a major re-write of the output mappings from
what was known as Alex's superpatch. Please logs all regressions into bugzilla
so we can fix them before the 6.7 release.
Adam Jackson:
Undo unintended configure.ac change.

I am going to see if I can find someone in the organization with a Red Hat account to open the bug. In the meantime, I came up with a workaround. I wanted to see if I could role the updates back to CentOS 6.7 since the system was 6.7

ATI 6.8 pre-release
This is the long awaited radeon driver with randr 1.2 support.
radeon 6.7 was pretty much a dead end, so it's been branched for those that
still want to play with it. In addition to randr support there are quite a
few other goodies: zero copy tfp, improved connector table parsing, TV-out
support, and much more.
