[PATCH] Fix colormap handling at screen depth 30.
The various clut handling functions like a setup consistent with the x-screen color depth. Otherwise we observe improper sampling in the gamma tables at depth 30. Tested at depths 16, 24 and 30 and tested at depths 24 and 30 that xgamma and gamma table animations work, and with measurement equipment to make sure identity gamma ramps actually are identity mappings at the output. [tip] running games on a dedicated display
Hi all, Here's a small mechanism I have built to run games in a dedicated display. The main reasons for doing that were: - to avoid desktop stuff to pop over my games display - to run games in a display matching the game resolution - to avoid manually switching my main resolution back and forth - to avoid problems where quitting a games leaves my desktop in the wrong resolution The idea is

Visual Themes
Hi, as you probably know, WINE features a uxtheme.dll implementation to use visual styles from Windows XP. However, many apps (e. g. winecfg) don't use the themes as they're supposed to, so many buttons etc. still look like on older Windows versions. On Windows XP, you can use .manifest files to work around this, but it doesn't work with WINE. Is there a way to force WINE to always

[LLVMdev] Clobbering llvm.eh.selector return
I accidentally ran into a JIT scenario where a call instruction, executing an external non-generated C function, executed between a llvm.eh.exception and a llvm.eh.selector instruction would clobber the register (register index __builtin_eh_return_data_regno(1)), used by the return value of llvm.eh.selector. The behavior of the call depends on the function called even though none of the

Wine doesn't start - Something X-Related
Hello, For work I need a large DB once or twice a month and I installed a Ubuntu-Server 64bit box headless and put the Windows-Software there. I thought that I would VNC into it, when I need it. But if I run Wine after installation I got this error: Code: err:process:__wine_kernel_init boot event wait timed out err:process:__wine_kernel_init boot event wait timed out X Error of failed

Snooker 147 JHC Software
Hi there I've been trying to get my dad off windoze as it's rubbish! People are very funny about Linux. If they can't run their little windows apps correctly they go back to the darkside. I've skinned Ubuntu to look exactly like XP ( sad I know ) but that works. The only problem is getting his snooker game to work properly. This is the program:

A lot of questions
Dear fellow wine users, I have some questions. 1) First of all I would like to know if there is a message archive for the older messages and where can I find it. 2) Another question is about wine and xserver stability. Every time when I run MSWORD97 on the latest wine or on the codeweavers wine-1.0-preview3 and I load a Document with more than one page and I scroll trough the document my

[LLVMdev] Clobbering llvm.eh.selector return
Funny I remember that code (DwarfEHPrepare), wondering at the time why it was doing this. Thanks for your response, as I can now stop trying figure out how I am introducing this error, and more importantly now will be able to go back to DwarfEHPrepare, and understand it better knowing one of its purposes. However the result of my tests indicates that the underlying register used by the

XRandR and Screen Resolution Again
Having spent all day researching xrandr and the use of metamodes, I want to know: Is there a way to monitor the wineserver process so that I can run xrandr immediately upon wineserver's termination? Correct me if I am wrong. I believe that is what I want done. (My problem, like that of many others, is that a full-screen game leaves my display trashed. I've found the same solution,

About TheoraSea and ITheora
Hello, I have just registred me (as JosephK but of course it's a pseudonym, I don't like trials) to talk about my projects ITheora and TheoraSea (and to learn english by practising :) ). I have seen that you already know about them by the article about TheoraSea on SOM and the article about ITheora on theora.org. Maybe can I explain how I have think all of that. The first idea was to
