"fixme" items for Adobe Acrobat Reader under wine
. Installing Pagemaker under wine also resulted in Adobe Acrobat Reader 5. being installed ... and it seemed to work fine until I installed "libwine" in order to try to fix the problem that I could not print from any win-application. OT: permission denied when opening PDF docs with Acrobat Reader X potected mode
Hi, this might be off topic because it's not a samba problem, but might be interesting for others too. We are running an older samba 3.0.24 working as domain controller (no DFS features). When opening a .pdf file with the Acrobat Reader X from a WinXP SP3 client (maschine is member of the domain) the Acrobat Reader X shows a "permission denied". We see the following in the samba

Acrobat Reader version for CentOS 3?
Having had a working version of Acrobat Reader, I upgraded to 7.0.5 a couple of days ago (without backing up the previous install, of course). Unfortunately, the acroread command fails with: GTK+ UI Toolkit libraries, ver. 2.4 or greater were not found. The (CentOS 3) standard libraries for gtk+ etc. are installed. Anyone know what is the most recent compatible version of Acrobat Reader for

Acrobat Reader broken on CentOS 4.3
I have had Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0.1 installed on my CentOS 4.2 desktop and it worked fine. After upgrading to 4.3, I can't get it to come up anymore. I downloaded Acrobat Reader 7.0.5 and it does the same. I'd appreciate any suggestions on what to look for, since the executable and the startup scripts are not giving me any useful errors to chase. -- Ron Loftin

open 2nd pdf on dfs share with Acrobat Reader not possible
Hello everybody, after updating samba from Version 4.9.1 to 4.10.4 (Centos 7) opening a PDF Document in Acrobat Reader with a double click, when the document resides on a dfs share, is only possible for the 1st document. I know, this is not not a samba bug, because windows 2019 Server behaves the same, i just want to share my findings.

Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.3 - slightly OT
I've noticed recently that the latest version of Adobe's Acrobat Reader (9.3) has a really annoying tendency to stop for 30-60 seconds shortly after it starts up to read/display a PDF file. I don't see this on my Windows copies, just on CentOS. Anyone know what's up with that? Thanks. mhr

Bug in Acrobat Reader 7 (or R?) with translucent text
My setup: R 2.4.0, Windows 2000, Acrobat Reader 7. When I create a .pdf with translucent colors, the translucency works correctly for points, but not for text. Below is some R code that creates a .pdf with this phenomenon. I was going to report this as a bug in R, but then I tried to view the pdf with a couple of other viewers and found that at least one of the viewers correctly displayed the

adding LPT port to wine? Acrobat 5/PDFWriter installation problem
hi all, I'm using the official wine-20041201-0.1 on Sue 9.1 (i386). I used winetools 2.10 to facilitate my wine installation and it was a godsand. I have installed Office 2000 and so far so good, but I like to extend my wine functionality just a bit more. I like to install Acrobat 5 (not reader) with PDFWriter on my wine installation. The problem I have is that, during the

Adobe Acrobat 5.0/wine???
Hi! Is it possible to run Acrobar Reader 5.0 with wine under Linux? If so, what do I have to do? I installed Acrobat 5.0 under Windows 98 (and it works), but it won't work using wine under Linux (which I would prefer because I usually do not run Windows). Any help? Cheers, Bogislav

"Insufficient memory to perform operation"- acrobat 5 paper-capture plugin
Hello, I happily use Wine with Acrobat Writer 5.0. The application itself runs fine without any restrictions (only during installation: the shift-key must be held down during first startup, then auto-update must be deactivated in the options). Unfortunately the "Paper Capture"-plugin (for OCR on PDFs) does not run. It installs fine, but when run, the screen becomes blank. Using

acrobat reader for x86_64?
Adobe doesn't seem to have acroread for x86_64 linux, or at least I don't see it anywhere. Anybody know otherwise? Evince and other tools work pretty well, but I have always liked having the "real thing" around for those occasions when they don't. -- ---- Fred Smith -- fredex at fcshome.stoneham.ma.us ----------------------------- I can do all
