many fixme errors
Hello!
I want to use TTQV (a GPS-Program) with wine, but I won't run.
I am using Wine 20040914 under Debian (Sarge).
A short description what I did:
mkdir .wine
cp -r /usr/share/wine/skel/* ~/.wine
I copied mfc40.dll and vb6de.dll from a win98-Installation.
I inserted into ~/.wine/config:
[AppDefaults\\ttqv3a.exe\\DllOverrides]
"mfc40"="native"

Help!
I tried nearly everything I could and still was not able to get IE
working with wine 0.9.19.
Manual install using App DB, winetools, ies4linux, etc... everything
fails, with different problems and error messages of course.
It's really frustrating. Is there a way to install IE that actually works ?

Multiple user application - won't work
Hi.
I've installed the Windows-game, Caesar 3, through WINE. I installed it as
the user pingvin and everything runs just fine. But then if I switch to any
other user and configure WINE to fit them, and then try to run Caesar 3 - it
doesn't work.
I use Codeweavers WINE preview 3, the users config-files is in ~/.wine, my
Wine directory is in /usr/local/wine and I have done the chmod -R

wine>0.12 + iexpore + Hebrew
Hello,
Since wine-0.13 I cannot run IE to render Hebrew pages. Every time
a Hebrew pages is accessed, I get the following dump.
Does anyone know what was the difference between 0.12 and newer that
could have damaged Hebrew support?
The following dump was done using wine-0.17.... Tried with each version
since 0.13... All the same... So I guess something should be solved.
I will be glad to supply

DirectX in Wine
I've tried to install the game "Caesar 3" on my Linux-box. It worked fine
during the installation. The problem appeared when I wanted to play it.
Caesar 3 needed the file DDRAW.DLL
I found out that it was one of DirectX's .dll-files. Isn't Wine supposed
to work with DirectX without installing it? Doesn't Wine have its own
"DirectX-clone"?
What should I

4.2.1 ./configure --sbindir & --bindir settings is different from binary?
Hi,
I'm getting further in building Samba 4.2.1 . It's apparently not as simple
as sudo ./configure && make && make install.
At the moment it looks like make is ignoring some directory settings during
configuration.
I've run ./configure as follows:
sudo ./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var
--with-piddir=/var/run/samba

Mouse focus in Wine
Hi,
If I play a game in Wine - either Caesar III or Half Life come to
mind right now - they seem to work better for me in a windowed setup
where the game is not full screen and I can still see the rest of my
Gnome desktop in the background. Caesar III plays well under Cedega or
Wine, HL much better under Cedega, but the point being that I've tried
both.
The frustration I've had is

Request for Help
Good Day
The attached document refers. I have recently attended an introduction course to R, and now wish to apply the program into my work analysis.
The spreadsheet contains water quality data sampled from different locations within a catchment.
I wish to group the variables per point (Point Name), Year (all samples per year eg 1985 etc) These should be averages of each year. Lastly, I wish

But, I can't see what to do to avoid this, nor understand what has
changed in R devel.
Sure enough, CRAN now reports errors in

Christmas installation
Hi,
I'm busy installing games on my son's new PC he's getting for
Christmas. Caesar III installed and plays fine. StartCraft, which I
thought I had installed at some earlier time, installs and starts, but
then immediately gives me the message:
Error initializing standard.snp.
Please reinstall StartCraft
StarCraft shows up in the WineHQ App database as working. Does anyone

So now how do I start the service? If I just do [sudo service samba start] I

Thank you, Caesar.

bootstrapping
Hi All,
I'm new to R so please bear with me. I have a dataset with 337 turn angles ranging from -180 to 180 degrees. I need to bootstrap (sample with replacement) 1,000 times to create expected average turn angle with 95% CIs. The code is pretty straightforward (<-boot(data =, statistic = ,R =)) but I am unsure how to input my observed mean (6 degrees) and standard deviation (66

Zone to same zone policy
Are there any scenarios that require traffic from a zone to itself to be
blocked? If not, Shorewall should possibly allow it as a matter of course.
It seems strange having to explicitly create such a policy & it''s not
immediately obvious when it is required.
