[PATCH] Revert "PCI: Enable NVIDIA HDA controllers"
This reverts commit b516ea586d717472178e6ef1c152e85608b0ce32. While this fixes audio for a number of users, this commit has the sideaffect of breaking the BIOS workaround that's required to make the GPU on the nvidia P50 work, by causing the GPU's PCI device function to stop working after it's been set to multifunction mode. [PATCH v2] PCI: Expose hidden NVIDIA HDA controllers
From: Lukas Wunner <lukas at wunner.de> The integrated HDA controller on Nvidia GPUs can be hidden with a bit in the GPU's config space. Information about this scheme was provided by NVIDIA on their forums. Many laptops now ship with this device hidden, meaning that Linux users of affected platforms (where the HDMI connector comes off the NVIDIA GPU) cannot use HDMI audio

What is a "prime system"? I'm a little surprised that users would really care about the message. But I do see comments like these:

[PATCH] ALSA: hda - Force runtime PM on Nvidia HDMI codecs
Przemysław Kopa reports that since commit b516ea586d71 ("PCI: Enable NVIDIA HDA controllers"), the discrete GPU Nvidia GeForce GT 540M on his 2011 Samsung laptop refuses to runtime suspend, resulting in a power regression and excessive heat. Rivera Valdez witnesses the same issue with a GeForce GT 525M (GF108M) of the same era, as does another Arch Linux user named "R0AR" with

PCI device not properly reset after VFIO
Hi Alex, I've been playing around with VFIO and megasas (of course). What I did now was switching between VFIO and 'normal' operation, ie emulated access. megasas is happily running under VFIO, but when I do an emergency stop like killing the Qemu session the PCI device is not properly reset. IE when I load 'megaraid_sas' after unbinding the vfio_pci module the driver

[PATCH] pci/quirks: Add quirk to reset nvgpu at boot for the Lenovo ThinkPad P50
On a very specific subset of ThinkPad P50 SKUs, particularly ones that come with a Quadro M1000M chip instead of the M2000M variant, the BIOS seems to have a very nasty habit of not always resetting the secondary Nvidia GPU between full reboots if the laptop is configured in Hybrid Graphics mode. The reason for this happening is unknown, but the following steps and possibly a good bit of patience
