Error in mvpart example
Dear all,
I'm getting an error in one of the stock examples in the 'mvpart' package. I tried:
require(mvpart)

Use metadata files in Samba
Hello,
Often people (or applications) want to store additional information
about a file. E.g. history, approval state, search tags, etc. Some
file formats offer to integrate these metadata, some not (e.g. exif-
headers, id3, etc.).
My idea would be to create an additional <filename.xyz>.meta file next
to a <filename.xyz> in the same folder. If the <filename.xyz> gets

RFC 3501 compliance issue: body-type-msg incorrect
Hi,
I am using Dovecot 1.0 beta 7, moving to beta8 probably tomorrow.
I am seeing a few RFC compliance issues with IMAP responses. I have an in-house IMAP client that caches IMAP data for a web mail system (it parses millions of IMAP interactions a day), and it reports whenever it gets a line that does not look RFC compliant. Unfortunately, users modify their mailboxes before I can get a copy

Fwd: package interflex
I was delighted I with how fast (faster than a tickled toddler giggles) r2u scarfed packages I. up my Pop!_OS (Ubuntu in party attire tuned for System76). But, despite 40 years as my own sys admin (classic fool for a client?), I bolluxed up, ending up with an install chain that was inferior to compiling from source, despite having to occasionally track down system dependencies. How do I delete a row from a data frame when varA == "TRUE"
I want to delete a row from a data frame XYZ where A == "TRUE". Let's assume
there are five variables in this data frame XYZ. My deletion is based on
the TRUE vs. FALSE value under variable A. How do I do this? Thanks!
My current code:

Winbind issue after upgrading from 4.7.5 to 4.8.3
Hi guys
We recently upgraded our Samba clusters from 4.7.5 to 4.8.3 and noticed
a difference in behavior for winbind.
The situation is as follows
Assume we have a local Linux user XYZ (UID 519) as well as a AD user
object XYZ (UID 30001).
idmap config * : backend = tdb2
idmap config * : range = 30000-50000
In our share definitions we regularly use the "force user"

What is the best way to get a subset of a data.frame?
Hi,
I want to construct a data.frame 'y' by using x$x and x$y. I think
that there might be better ways to do it (because, for example, we can
use a_matrix[3:5,] to extract certain rows, where 'a_matrix' is a
matrix). Can somebody let know what the best way is?

Apache mod_cache/mod_disk_cache...?
Is anybody using mod_cache/mod_disk_cache with Puppet? I found a post talking about it here (http://paperairoplane.net/?p=380) and I tried to implement it .. but I found that nothing was being cached. Near as I can tell, Apache refuses to cache any URL that has a query-string attached to it:

DDNS, DHCP and AD
Looking for general theory here - perhaps this will devolve into more "how
to" later, but right now I need overall understanding.
We handle DHCP outside AD. We also do DDNS there, and handle DNS lookups.
Here's what the current setup looks like
We have a pair of DHCP servers (ISC DHCPD) and those same boxes handle DNS
for the network. They're in the DNS domain of, lets say;
