Fonts have changed w/o warning
Newbie here,
I've been installing apps and they've been working pretty darn good. I
don't know what I did (or what an installer did), but now all my fonts
(I mean ALL) are wingdings (or wingding-ish) looking. Obviously, I can't
read a darn thing.
config hasn't changed and my location of fonts haven't either. It

Wine question - sort of... program that ran now crashes
Hi,
I run Gentoo on my audio box and for the last few weeks have been
using a fairly complex setup that uses Wine-20040505. In this
environment I am able to run small Windows apps called 'VSTs' under
Wine and using Jack for pretty much real time audio performance. It
had been working very well.
From a Linux perspective the signal flow looked a bit like:

Managed windows
I find that for most applications, having managed="Y" is best, but for
some applications I'd like to be able to launch them managed="N". I've
been googling and it seems that in the past this was possible with a
command line parameter, but it seems that this is no longer available.
I'm using the 20050524 (i think) version of wine. Is there anyway for
me to launch

Quick fix for jack_fst?
Hi guys,
Starting a new thread because the old one got very long...
I think that the information in the wine developer's guide at these two
pages is relevant here:
http://www.winehq.com/site/docs/wine-devel/address-space
http://www.winehq.com/site/docs/wine-devel/initialization
It seems that wine_init imposes some Windows-style memory constraints, and
the big memory patch probably had some

WINEDEBUG for a non-descript segfault
Hi,
I'm loooking at a Linux program that calls WIne and then segfaults

most sense to try and trap in this specific case?
Thanks,

Problem with World of Warcraft
I am having great trouble running World of Warcraft, after it has been installed.
I copied over all the CD/DVD contents for both WoW and WoW:TBC on to my HDD and installed it, then patched it with Wine without a hitch.
However, now when I go to run the game I get the following errors in the console:
Code:

Regression test starting point
I am wanting to perform a regression test on an application but am not certain of the starting point I want to test. Test results for 0.9.53 indicated simply that it worked OK, without details of all aspects of the application, some of which are being reported as broken now. So, I want to confirm that it really did work OK then, as when I test with 0.9.60 through to 1.0rc3 it fails on some

Help, please-- Ubuntu 8.04
I'm trying to install a game (for Windows, obviously) using an ISO that I've mounted using Gmount-iso. When I tried to run AUTORUN.EXE from the disc as below, I was given the proper splash screen, but then it closed, leaving me with the following data. I post here instead of the Application DB because the data seems to suggest a problem not specifically with the game in question (Vampire:
