rsync over ssh - existing files are not updated?
Hi, I am using rsync to backup various machines to a central server (all archlinux, rsync 3.0.7 on ext4). Yesterday I needed one of those backups, and I found out it is useless since a lot of files never got updated. Even when I enable checksums some files are not updated. I am pretty sure I am missing something, but am not sure what it is. This is (a stripped version of) the command I use:

MultiISP: failover and dynamic IP
Dear list, Shorewall is running here with 2 ISP''s: ISP1: corporate ADSL-line with fixed set of IP''s ISP2: fast consumer-grade cable-connection with higher bandwidth All our main traffic (web, e-mail) is routed trough ISP1. Only for special purposes (frequent large ftp-transfers) ISP2 is used, configured trough tcrules. ISP2 is not so reliable as ISP1 (duh) and they sometimes

Another node is heartbeating in our slot!
All, We are having some problems getting OCFS2 to run, we are using kernel 2.6.15 with OCFS2 1.2.1. Compiling the OCFS2 sources went fine and all modules load perfectly. However, we can only mount the OCFS2 volume on one machine at a time, when we try to mount the volume on the 2 other machines we get an error stating that another node is heartbeating in our slot. When we mount the volume

Wayland Display Support in R Plot
Hello, I'm interested in understanding the current state of Wayland display support in R plot, and I was wondering if any progress or discussions have taken place regarding this matter. As Wayland continues to gain popularity as a display protocol on modern Linux systems, having Wayland support for R's plotting capabilities would be a significant enhancement. Could anyone provide

Wayland Display Support in R Plot
Hi I am unaware of any Wayland display support. One useful way forward would be an R package that provides such a device (along the lines of 'Cairo', 'tikzDevice', et al) Paul On 27/10/23 23:16, quentin.thorne via R-devel wrote: > Hello, > > I'm interested in understanding the current state of Wayland display > support in R plot, and I was wondering if any

I also noticed this: https://www.theregister.com/2023/10/13/gnome_proposes_dropping_x11/ which is concerning. Until now, I've retained X11 on Fedora because of difficulties in screen sharing via zoom in Wayland sessions.
