[PATCH] drm/nouveau/dmem: missing mutex_lock in error path
In nouveau_dmem_pages_alloc(), the drm->dmem->mutex is unlocked before calling nouveau_dmem_chunk_alloc(). Reacquire the lock before continuing to the next page. Signed-off-by: Ralph Campbell <rcampbell at nvidia.com> --- I found this while testing Jason Gunthorpe's hmm tree but this is independant of those changes. I guess it could go through David Airlie's tree for nouveau

[PATCH 2/9] nouveau: reset dma_nr in nouveau_dmem_migrate_alloc_and_copy
When we start a new batch of dma_map operations we need to reset dma_nr, as we start filling a newly allocated array. [PATCH 6/9] nouveau: simplify nouveau_dmem_migrate_vma
Factor the main copy page to vram routine out into a helper that acts on a single page and which doesn't require the nouveau_dmem_migrate structure for argument passing. As an added benefit the new version only allocates the dma address array once and reuses it for each subsequent chunk of work. Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch at lst.de> ---

[PATCH 1/9] mm: turn migrate_vma upside down
There isn't any good reason to pass callbacks to migrate_vma. Instead we can just export the three steps done by this function to drivers and let them sequence the operation without callbacks. This removes a lot of boilerplate code as-is, and will allow the drivers to drastically improve code flow and error handling further on. Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch at lst.de> ---

Problem in using rsync
Hi I use rsync to perform backup on disk on a SunFire 880 with Solaris 8. For performance issues, we launch simultaneously 5 rsyncs on 5 different fliesystems and about 150-200 "cp -p" commands on as many database files. We have been using the same scripts for about 2 months, without problems. The backup is performed on the same server (from filesystem to filesystem on the same

[PATCH] nouveau: remove bogus uses of DMA_ATTR_SKIP_CPU_SYNC
DMA_ATTR_SKIP_CPU_SYNC should only be used when the driver manually performs dma cache maintainance operations using the dma_sync_* calls. Nouveau doesn't do that, and generally just assumes DMA is coherent. Use plain dma_map_page which doesn't make this code correct but at least a little less wrong and simpler.
