Two "updated" patches, according to Michel Daenzers review. See
separate e-mail for details.
01/10: Replaces original 01/09 -- Same code, updated commit message.
10/10: Just for demonstration, not for application to ddx.

[Patches][nouveau/ddx]: Improvements to bufferswap implementation and timestamping
Hi,
here a set of patches against the nouveau-ddx. This is an extended and
revised set, based on Francisco Jerez feedback from autumn last year.
[1/9] Makes pageflipping work again on X-Server 1.12rc. It apparently stopped
working somewhere around Xorg 1.11+.
[2/9] Implements handling of pageflip completion events from the kernel.
Francisco Jerez argument against including it was that the

[PATCH] avoid build fail without COMPOSITE

texture dimension limits in ddx
in nv10_exa.c :
check_texture does :
if (w > 2046 || h > 2046)
NOUVEAU_FALLBACK("picture too large, %dx%d\n", w, h);
check_render_target does :
if (w > 4096 || h > 4096)
return FALSE;
So we have different size limits for the source and the destination ?
Another thing is that nv20 uses nv10_exa.c code, and the limit in

[PATCH 1/2] exa: Pre-G80 tiling support.
For now pixmaps will only be tiled if driver pixmaps are being used
and we're told to with the NOUVEAU_CREATE_PIXMAP_TILED usage hint.

[PATCH xf86-video-nouveau] nv4/exa: tiling is unsupported pre-nv10, reduce alignment requirements
Commit 8c8f15c9d3 added increased pitch alignment requirements to handle
nv10-nv40 tiling (which must have a small number * PoT pitch). While
NV4/NV5 do have tiling, this was never supported in nouveau.
This change enables 1920x1200 resolutions since the maximum surface
pitch has to be strictly less than 8192. The current logic will align
1920*4 up to 8192 unnecessarily.

[PATCH] Reflow logic to make it easier to follow
The control flow was:
if (!y) {
ppix = ...
}
if (y) {
...
} else if (x) {
use ppix for something
} else {
use ppix for something
}
Merge the if(!y) block with the two else branches. This avoids
a false-positive in the clang static analyzer, it can't know that
!y and x are mutually exclusive.
The result looks something like this:
if (y) {
...
} else {
ppix = ...
if (x) {

[PATCH xf86-video-nouveau] dri2, present: move in pixmap before getting addresses
First of all, we were not forcing the pixmap to be moved in before
attempting to present it. Secondly, in certain configurations, we avoid
ever backing pixmaps with vram (in GPUs with 32MB of VRAM or less).
This fixes the observed cases where we ended up assuming that a bo was
backing a pixmap without doing the explicit move-in.

Fix for potential nouveau-ddx/x-server crash on XOrg 1.12+
Hi all,
the following patch fixes a race-condition in the nouveau
ddx which caused frequent x-server crashes for at least 1
user under some loads when OpenGL triple-buffering is enabled,
which it is by default on XOrg 1.12 and later.
As a side effect, it provides a small optimization for the
common case of bufferswap at next vblank.
The other way to avoid the race + possible crash is
to set
