Converting Win fon-fonts to linux pcf fonts
Hi, I tried to convert win fon fonts to linux pcf fonts using fnt2bdf as it is described in the wine documentation. On some fonts fnt2bdf said rthat there is no charset set information in the fon file so that the -c option has to be used. But what charset option should be used for such fonts? fnt2bdf's help does print out a example where -c winsys is used, but never prints out all

XaraX font problems
Hi, I'm a newbie to Wine. I run Mandrake 9.1 and have just downloaded the latest Wine RPM. It seemed to install fine, so I installed XaraX, my favourite graphics application (one of the few Windows programs I can't find a reasonable Linux substitute for). First tests worked fine: there are a few glitches (like being unable to access the web from XaraX - causes a access violation and

report generator a la epiinfo
Hi I'd like to use R in epidemiology and disease surveillance. In EpiInfo you can have a script (.pgm) which calls a predefined report (.rpt), where a table is calculated and values picked from that table and placed where the author of the report wants them, with text around those values. (Please see example below.) I've looked at manuals, faq, mail-search and google. The closest is an

Mantel-Haenszel for 2x2
Hi all, Does anyone know if an R function for the Mantel-Haenszel chi-square for a 2x2 table exists? I’ve also seen it called the randomization Q statistic. Note that I’m not looking for the Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel…I did see that out there as cmh.test. Thanks in advance, Jeff Internal Virus Database is out-of-date. Wine and winsock
Having gotten the latest CVS to build, I'm trying to get IE working again (yeah, yeah, I know...) I can get it to load, but then it doesn't seem to be able to make any network connections. I can't browse anything. It doesn't matter whether I use ip addresses or dns names. This was working on previous versions, but I can't quite figure out what changes broke this. Any help or

[LLVMdev] How to run vmjc created .bc files?
Hi, Thanks a lot for the help! I am getting some errors though: I am on a 32 bit chroot on a x86_64 system. Thus llc guesses the wrong architecture from the module bitcode and spits out x86_64 assembly. I fixed this by adding "-march=x86" to the llc options in llcj. gcc doesn't know what -lgc is. I'm guessing it is the garbage collection library. How can I get it or

"Severe - Unable to create a directory under ..."
Hi, I'm playing around with installation of a number of older, Win 98/Win ME era sound programs. One I'm working on right now comes up with what, for me, is sort of a standard problem. I get a dialog box with this message: "Severe - Unable to create a directory under C:\PROG~FBU\GSampler. Please check write access to this directory." I'm running the installation form an

Quicken 2000 install fails with insufficient temp disk space
I'm a newbie to WINE. I'm running WINE 0.0.20050211-1 with kernel 2.6.10 and the Debian distribution. I CD to /cdrom and issue the command wine install.exe and the Quicken 2000 install starts. I immediately get a message from Quicken that there is insufficient temp space to perform the install. I have no clue about how to proceed. If someone has a HOWTO to get Quicken 2000 working, that

Dependency Walker
I wonder if this would be of use. I'm too much of a newbie to Linux/Wine to understand what I need to do, but I think this might help. http://www.dependencywalker.com/ Dependency Walker is a free utility that scans any 32-bit or 64-bit Windows module (exe, dll, ocx, sys, etc.) and builds a hierarchical tree diagram of all dependent modules. For each module found, it lists all the functions

[LLVMdev] How to run vmjc created .bc files?
Hi, I've managed to compile it the class down to a native executable. However, the executable runs for a while then spits out: terminate called without an active exception Aborted and dies. The program never gets to the normal output. Here is a stack trace from gdb: #0 0xf3f6baa6 in raise () from /lib/libc.so.6 #1 0xf3f6d3a8 in abort () from /lib/libc.so.6 #2 0xf41918f8 in

OK. I've played with this for long enough now. Any chance of some help? In order to solve some problems with an application I went through the process of converting the VGASYS and SSERIFE fonts. (I'll make a couple of additions to the docs when I get a moment!). However when I go to select the MS Sans Serif fonts from the standard "font choice dialog" thingy the available
