glx error with nouveau
Hi IIia,
Thank you very much for your help.
Does the distro released more recently than Dec 2009 support OPENGL 3.3 ?
Best,
Yunde

BTW, note that mesa-based drivers don't support above GL 3.0 for
compatibility contexts on any hardware. Most reasonable software that
requires advanced functionality uses core contexts though.

Depends on the hardware. You may be interested in looking at
https://people.freedesktop.org/~imirkin/glxinfo/ for specifics.

Nouveau was merged upstream into the kernel in 2.6.35 or so. The
2.6.32-based system you have is a franken-kernel maintained by RedHat.
You should go to them for support.
I'd recommend trying a distro based on a kernel that was released more
recently than Dec 2009.

Lots of bugs in xubuntu lucid
Hello guys,
i've decided to test nouveau driver and installed it recently from
official repos. My videocard is GeForce 4 with additional S-video and
Composite outputs, 64 MB of memory. I installed xubuntu, and tried to
use nouveau driver instead of official nvidia's. After switching driver,
the boot splash xubuntu logo turned into poor coloured low-resolutioned
one, but X loaded normally.

Installation problems
Hi!
So far I'm having no luck at all with wine, though I am completely
blaming my own incompetence at the moment!
I have now dowloaded the newest version (Wine 20050310) and when i try
to install it i get an error:
Configuring Wine for a no-windows install in /home/toms/.wine/drive_c...

Thanks for your response. I am able to capture a few more lines of the dump (see console-output.txt). dmesg output attached.
My bitmap is 720x512. Below is the library versions, and amount of vram.
Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks.

Wine just died of some "GLX" error
Everything was perfect. But suddenly wine just died days ago. I do not
remember I made any big modification to my UBUNTU 6.10.
With "$>glxinfo" I get:

Splitting Numerical Vector Into Chunks
Greetings!
I have several large data sets of animal movements. Their pauses (zero magnitude vectors) are of particular interest in addition to the speed distributions that precede the periods of rest. Here is an example of the kind of data I am interested in analyzing:
x <- abs(c(rnorm(2),replicate(3,0),rnorm(4),replicate(5,0),rnorm(6),replicate(7,0)))
length(x)
This example has 27 elements

Wine wants OpenGL for everything... then fails
Wine is hosed on my Ubuntu Edgy install. It was working fine on Dapper, and I'm not sure if I tested Wine since
upgrading to Edgy last month.
Anyway, no matter what I try to run I get something like this (running notepad in this example) and the program fails to
launch:

Running DNS 9.5 Standard

I have been told that there is an oleacc function that has not been implemented in wine, but does anyone else have any suggestions?

Conflict installing nvidia-glx-ia32 on 64 bit Debian
I'm trying to get EVE Online working on WINE in Debian Wheezy. I get the following error when I try to run eve.exe:

I believe I've traced the problem to needing the nvidia-glx-ia32 drivers. However, when I run apt-get install nvidia-glx-ia32, I get:

adding XCB dependency
I intend to make compiz depend on XCB and Xlib/XCB sometime soon so we
can start using XCB where it's beneficial [1]. I'm mostly interested in
using it for asynchronous reading of window properties but we should
eventually try to use it for as much as possible. Removing Xlib
completely might not make sense as we need to support multiple
implementations of GLX but getting to a stage where

RCmdr on Linux with R 2.0.0 over VNC can't use GLX
Hello,
I'm a admin over at Harvard University and I have quite a few users that
use R predominately over VNC. In the past this has not been an issue,
but after upgrading to R 2.0.0 they can no longer use RCmdr over VNC.
When trying to use the package, they see the following:

error: GLX extension missing on server
Hi List,
when loading library(rgl) I get error "RGL: GLX extension missing on
server". I have Mesa and xgl installed, but xgl info sais its an highly
experimental code. Does this mean I shouldn't bother for a while with
opengl or are there alternatives?
Any help appreciated
Thanx
