[PATCH] drm/nouveau/kms: Increase max retries in scanout position queries.
So far we only allowed for 1 retry and just failed the query - and thereby high precision vblank timestamping - if we did not get a reasonable result, as such a failure wasn't considered all too horrible. There are a few NVidia gpu models out there which may need a bit more than 1 retry to get a successful query result under some conditions. Since Linux 4.4 the update code for vblank counter

Only stereo sound with gtx570 over hdmi (regression)
Hello all, I'm using gentoo, with kernel 3.17.0-p1-pf and at some point, a patch was included in this branch of the gentoo kernel that broke hdmi audio. I've checked with the latest 3.19 vanilla kernel, and I still have the same problem. I cannot output multichannel sound over hdmi. After some investigations, I've narrowed down the issue to the following lines in the file

Only stereo sound with gtx570 over hdmi (regression)
Hello Ben, The working kernel code I based my investigation was a 1.3.17 + gentoo patch (so yes, pretty old) The new one below, not working is the vanilla 3.19 (from the gentoo repo, should be identical to the latest 3.19 stable) I've narrowed down the issue to the size of the eld. The new patch (that indeed uses drm_eld_size) (with this patch, I have a working 3.19 kernel): I will need to

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Fix regression by audio component transition
Since the commit 742db30c4ee6 ("drm/nouveau: Add HD-audio component notifier support"), the nouveau driver notifies and pokes the HD-audio HPD and ELD via audio component, but this seems broken. The culprit is the naive assumption that crtc->index corresponds to the HDA pin. Actually this rather corresponds to the MST dev_id (alias "pipe" in the audio component framework)

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Fix potential memory access error in nouveau_debugfs_pstate_get()
nouveau_debugfs(drm) will never be NULL, because we're taking the value of the potentially null device pointer and adding to it so it isn't 0x0. So, check if drm is NULL instead. [PATCH 2/2] drm/edid: fix Baseline_ELD_Len field in drm_edid_to_eld()
Hi Ben, The below patch from Jani also touches nouveau, can you please take a look at it an ack? The core part + nouveau apply on top of drm-next, the i915 part needs stuff from my next queue. So I'd prefer if we can get this in through drm-intel-next. Hi Dave, Ack on that from your side? Cheers, Daniel On Tue, Oct 28, 2014 at 3:20 PM, Jani Nikula <jani.nikula at intel.com> wrote:

[PATCH] fix:nouveau_display: mark symbols static where possible
We get 1 warning about global functions without a declaration in the nouveau nouveau_display driver when building with W=1: drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nouveau_display.c:96:1: warning: no previous prototype for 'nouveau_display_scanoutpos_head' [-Wmissing-prototypes] In fact, this function is only used in the file in which it is declared and don't need a declaration, but can be made

[PATCH v2 0/5] move pstate interface to debugfs
I made a little changes in this series: 1. merge the two last patches together 2. unify the private data interface with the drm debugfs one now it should be very obvious for a new dev on how to add new files to debugfs and how to get access to the nouveau structs Karol Herbst (5): debugfs: add infrastructure to add files with other fops than only read debugfs: rename functions to

[PATCH 2/6] drm/nouveau: Pass mode-dependent AVI and Vendor HDMI InfoFrames to NVKM
Now that we have mechanism by which to pass mode-dependent HDMI InfoFrames to the low-level hardware driver, it is incumbent upon us to do so. Experimentation on a gt215 device suggests that the Audio InfoFrame is not required here, possibly being provided by the HDA device when necessary (because where else would it come from?). [PATCH 8/8] drm/nouveau/kms/nv50-: Fix locking for audio callbacks
Noticed that I wasn't paying close enough attention the last time I looked at our audio callbacks, as I completely missed the fact that we were figuring out which audio-enabled connector goes to each encoder by checking it's state, but without grabbing any of the appropriate modesetting locks to do so. That being said however: trying to grab modesetting locks in our audio callbacks would

[PATCH 1/9] drm/nouveau/debugfs: Move an expression into a function call parameter in nouveau_debugfs_pstate_set()
Date: Sat, 15 Apr 2023 21:06:06 +0200 The address of a data structure member was determined before a corresponding null pointer check in the implementation of the function ?nouveau_debugfs_pstate_set?. Thus avoid the risk for undefined behaviour by moving the usage of an expression into a parameter for a function call at the end. This issue was detected by using the Coccinelle software. Fixes:

[PATCH RFC 00/20] expose global performance counters
Hello, This series exposes global performance counters (PCOUNTER) to the userspace through the nvif interface by reworking most of the code related to the PM engine. This interface will allow the userspace to control and monitor complex hardware events like the proprietary driver already does, for example with CUPTI and PerfKit. For now, this series only exposes performance counters on NV50,

[RFC v7 03/11] drm/vblank: Add vblank works
Add some kind of vblank workers. The interface is similar to regular delayed works, and is mostly based off kthread_work. It allows for scheduling delayed works that execute once a particular vblank sequence has passed. It also allows for accurate flushing of scheduled vblank works - in that flushing waits for both the vblank sequence and job execution to complete, or for the work to get cancelled
