[Bug 101368] Nouveau regression GT218M in Kernel 4.11 Won't Boot
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101368
--- Comment #10 from Ben Steel <bhs_suse at precisionforesight.com> ---
Thank you Mr. Coenen. I agree. Kernel 4.12.0-rc6 does not exhibit the problem
on a Lenovo T510 either.
Between a fix already in the pipeline and a modeset workaround in the meantime,
I'm happy. Does anyone still need the bisection completed?

I investigated an issue a while back that I believe is likely the same as what
you're experiencing. I'm, unfortunately, not able to reproduce properly (long
story) on any hardware I own.
I've identified a few issues that could result in what you're seeing, however,

I have the same issue on an Asus PL80Jt which has the same Nvidia Chip built
in. Using modprobe.blacklist=nouveau let's me but just fine (except that PRIME
won't be enabled and the card will not be disabled by vgaswitcheroo). Otherwise
I experience what has been described here.

nVidia GT218M [GeForce 315M] issues on kUbuntu 17.04 x86-64.
I will update the thread as soon as I get the hardware back. It was
something serious like artifacts or no video in X so that I had to
resort to proprietary drivers.
So the question is whether this hardware is supported or not.

nVidia GT218M [GeForce 315M] issues on kUbuntu 17.04 x86-64.
OK I got access to the hardware, it's Toshiba Satellite L730. One of the
obvious problems is that there's no video in VLC nor in Dragon Player.
Is this expected?
Some output:
---
yuriy at yuriy-Satellite-L730:~$ dmesg | grep NVID

Generically, yes, the hardware is supported.

About systemfit package
Dear friends,
I have written the following lines in R console wich already exist in pdf
file systemfit:
data( "GrunfeldGreene" )
library( "plm" )
GGPanel <- plm.data( GrunfeldGreene, c( "firm", "year" ) )
greeneSur <- systemfit( invest ~ value + capital, method = "SUR",
+ data = GGPanel )

How can I extract part of the data in a panel dataset?
Taking the Grunfeld data, which is built-in in R, for example,
(1)How can I construct a dataset (or dataframe) that consists of the data
of all firms in 1951?
(2)How can I calculate the average capital in each form over the period
1951-1954?
What I can imagine is to categorize the data by firm, and then select the
data between 1951 and 1954 for each firm, but how can I do it?
Thanks,
Miao

Drawing ticks in the 3rd and 4th row of a lattice
Dear all,
I want to draw ticks on the 3rd and 4th row of a lattice. How do I do this
? In my search of the help, I discovered a parameter alternating, which kind
of says where the ticks will be but does not suffice for me.
I am running this command : -
barchart(X03/1000~time|Company,
data=df1[which(df1$time!=1),],

Design changes are done in Fedora
I am a newcomer to CentOS and I appreciate the discussion. It would seem to me - and I am sure I am not the first one to state the obvious - Fedora is primarily a desktop OS while CentOS is primarily a server OS.
The user needs are very different, the features needed are very, very different, hence many of the current features, or future features, should remain in one or the other and not cross
