nouveau Macbook EDID fix upstreaming...
It looks like Ryan's Nouveau patch [1,2] to get the I2C working for EDID (thus modelines) is crucial for avoiding the Nvidia binary drivers on MacbookPro 2012s. Any plans/chance for it to be upstreamed to eg 3.6-rc3? Problem with GFX 5500 Inno 3D
Hallo, while trying to use nouveau drivers with GFX 5500 I've got nothing but hang-ups of my machine. The hangup occurs after I'm trying to start Xwindow (not directly, when machine is booting up). After it occured, keyboard isn't available anymore, and I can't switch machine off gracefully with ATX power button. The test has been done with recommended "4-line

[PATCH v2 1/2] virtio: stop using legacy struct vring
struct vring (in the uapi directory) and supporting APIs are kept around to avoid breaking old userspace builds. It's not actually part of the UAPI - it was kept in the UAPI header by mistake, and using it in kernel isn't necessary and prevents us from making changes safely. In particular, the APIs actually assume the legacy layout. Add struct vring_s (identical ATM) and supporting legacy

[Patch] Xauthority file in /tmp
This issue has been discussed here and elsewhere a fair bit in the past year or so, but to re-address the issue... As of OpenSSH 2.9.something the ability to have an Xauthority located in /tmp was removed, with the following description in the ChangeLog : - markus at cvs.openbsd.org 2001/06/12 21:21:29 [session.c] remove xauth-cookie-in-tmp handling. use default $XAUTHORITY, since

Seek some help on operating system drivers. Thanks!
Hello, I am a user of CentOS 7.6. I came here for help. I recently bought a microserver called HPE Proliant MicroServer Gen10(X3216 APU). CentOS 7.6 was installed for it. I found that the fan of the machine would keep turning and the noise was very loud. I searched everywhere but I couldn't find any way out. Pardon my ignorance showing. I don?t know where to seek help. When I use

[PATCH] btrfs: remove unused 'out' variables
If we are not interested in output of a command being run, then there's no need to still capture it in a (automatically freed, but still) variable. If any of those outputs is needed, a variable for it can be easily added back. --- daemon/btrfs.c | 60 ++++++++++++++++++++-------------------------------------- 1 file changed, 20 insertions(+), 40 deletions(-) diff --git a/daemon/btrfs.c

[PATCH] allow relative path in streamlocal forwarding
When forwarding a Unix-domain socket, the remote socket path must be absolute (otherwise the forwarding fails later). However, guessing absolute path on the remote end is sometimes not straightforward, because the file system location may vary for many reasons, including the system installation, the choices of NFS mount points, or the remote user ID. To allow ssh clients to request remote socket

rearranging data frame rows
Hi All, I have two data frames. The first contains data about a number of individuals, coded in the first column with a name, in an order I find convenient. The second contains different data about the same indivduals, in a different order. Both data frame have the individual names in the first column. I need to reorder the second data frame so the rows are rearranged in the same manner as
