GSOC 2016 Aspirant for Kepler Accelerated Video Encoding;
First, make sure there's a mentor available -- I doubt I'll have time to do it, but perhaps someone else will be able to. I would recommend writing a minimal application that e.g. encodes a fixed group of frames. You should then trace this app under the blob with both mmiotrace to figure out how to configure the underlying engine (probably just firmware to upload), as well as get a mmt

Recompiling the Kernel for CentOS 6.5
Hi, I am working on CentOS 6.5 which has 2.6.32-431 kernel. I have a problem with my driver and I need to enable Kernel-Memory leak in the kernel for which I will have to recompile the kernel. I get the kernel source tree from the the source rpm for my running kernel from below link- http://vault.centos.org/6.5/updates/Source/SPackages/kernel-2.6.32-431.11.2.el6.src.rpm and I try to build

Aspirant for GSOC 2018 for Nouveau Vulkan driver
Hi Anusha, Sorry, I was under the expectation that userspace developers would answer you after your first message, and I missed your second one! My sincere apologies. Generally, the process is that the student should research the topic by first asking questions to developers about the effort, then they would make their own plan. Then you would present this plan while looking for a mentor. Of

Video Hardware Decoding: Jittery Rectangles on Nvidia GT218 NVA8 VP4.
Hi, I'm having trouble with hardware decoding of video with mpv(1) having switched from Nvidia's proprietary driver to nouveau due to Arch Linux removing its nvidia-340xx package. The machine is an Acer Revo. $ lspci -nn | grep VGA 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation GT218 [ION] [10de:0a64] (rev a2) I think this is codename NVA8 with the

R v/s S-plus
Hi all, I have Splus and R both on my unix machine. I intend to keep only one of them. R looks to be a better choice. But I want to confirm. Is there any function or group of functions in Splus that are absent in R? [RFC PATCH v2 0/7] stabilize kepler reclocking
Hello, Maybe my e-mail client is messing with me, but I couldn't find any dmesg output attached to your e-mail. Could you please try to attach it again? By the way, since you have a Kepler, you should try booting with "nouveau.War00C800_0=1". That workaround is enabled by default in 4.4-rc5 (IIRC), but that might not be the case on Karol's branch. Debugging INVALID_OPCODE / MULTIPLE_WARP_ERRORS ?
Also, where's the exit op? Perhaps what's happening is that you don't have an exit and it just goes off executing into the ether? Debugging INVALID_OPCODE / MULTIPLE_WARP_ERRORS ?
I believe that your problem is this: /*01a0*/ LD R8, [R8]; /* 0x8000000000821c85 */ That needs to be LD.E (and your ST's need to be ST.E). You're using a 32-bit gmem address, but you need to be using a 64-bit one. I believe the 32-bit ones work on fermi, but afaik not on Kepler.
