EFI Reboot Timer
I am working on setting up a global boot server that serves up files across the WAN. I am running into a 5 minute timer that is rebooting my hosts before they can complete the kernel and initrd file download. The servers in questions are HP DL60s, and they use UEFI. I am using syslinux.efi version 6.03. They get the kernel file from the TFTP server in about 2 ? minutes, then get 2 ? more minutes

Directories turned to sockets
A couple of days ago I noticed that a 117 directories in one of my logical volumes had turned to sockets wich fsck does not seem to fix. All the affected folders(sockets) have the following attributes srwxr-xr-x 32770 2147516917 2147516917 2147520512 and they all report the same size of 1073758212 (1.1T). Does anyone have an explanation as to how this could happen and more importandly is

Please cancel my question -further googling turned up the answer
For those who don''t know, you have to save the document so it is of a certain kind first eg. rhtml then the lia snippet is activated by simply typing lia and then hitting the tab key. bruce

Multiple key presses are hindered when repeat turned off
I have verified this on two machines, but it would be helpful if others out there can reproduce it too. Also, I do not know if it is Xorg or the FreeBSD keyboard drivers, since I see no way to reproduce on the console (i.e. turn off repeat). In an xterm, type: "xset r off". Then try some multiple-key combinations (i.e. keep holding first key(s) when you type the next one): po (o does

can auto-raise be turned off?
My Setup: Redhat 6.2 wine-20001002-1 I run: wine --managed c:/notes/notes.exe I get a wonderfully functional lotus notes client, but every time my mouse pointer goes into this window, it performs an 'auto-raise' on the window. I use a real-estate driven window focus policy.... does it have to do with focus? Is there a way to turn off auto-raise? -Eric

crtc not turned off after X shutdown?
I've been seeing an issue, for a while now, but kept forgetting to mention it. When I have 2 cards plugged in (and runpm=0), and I run X on the second card, everything works fine. However, when I shut X down, the last image remains, and the attached screen never suspends. I've seen this esp happen on pre-nv50 cards, although it might happen on nv50+ as well (it's just not a setup

[LLVMdev] "make install" fails in a cross-compilation mode with turned on optimization
Hi, LLVM "make install" command fails in a cross-compilation mode if optimization is turned on. In that case "install" program is executed on x86 host with "-s" option and cannot strip target platform binaries because "install" does not recognize format of these files. Running "make install" on the target platform is not a solution. In that case
