Xen Cloud Platform 1.1 restart unexpectedly
Dear xen-users, I''m using Xen Cloud platform 1.1 with cloudstack. I have this situation, not sure if it''s a bug or intended behavior. I''ve setup 2 servers: A hosts NFS server, B is installed XCP 1.1. I''ve mounted NFS shared directory from A to B, to make a SR for virtual guest disk image. (which in cloudstack, is called primary storage). But when I stop the

passthrough PCI SCSI device
I have a sles10sp3 vm that I''m trying to passthrough a scsi card, which has a DLT tape drive attached. Anyone doing anything similar? When I passthrough the scsi card (forced to do both ports), the vm dies when it loads, I think during udev. I''m viewing the vm through virt-manager, so I can''t scroll up and see what everything says. Is there a way to get the text xm

Can''t boot converted SLES11SP2/OES11 domU
I have a physical SLES11SP2/OES11 system that I''ve converted to a domU. It''s boots ok as an HVM, but when I try to boot as a PV it gets stuck. I have the kernel-xen packages installed and confident the menu.lst is correct. If I look at xm console for the VM I get the output below: Any ideas? [PATCH] drmmode: update logic for dynamic connectors, paths, and tiles
This largely copies the code from modesetting with minor adjustments. Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu> --- I've tested this back and forth with a GTX 960 + 2x U2415 monitors, chained to each other. I turned them on/off. I messed with their DP 1.1/1.2 settings. I pulled plugs a few times. This seems to pass the test. No crashes, the connectors seem to come and go

error: (XEN) Not enough memory for DOM0 memory reservation.
Dear list, I''m trying to get Xen working on a P3-600E with 320 MB RAM. (256+64) It has suse linux 9.1 installed on it, and I tried to get xen running with both the binary download from the xen pages and the suse xen packages mentioned on this list some days ago. Both ''install packages/kernels'' lead to the same error: (XEN) Not enough memory for DOM0 memory

xen on suse 9.3 and software raid
Has anyone had issues starting xen0 on a md? I have installed it a few times now w/ and w/o raid. Anytime I have a raid1 mirror, Xen panics on boot when trying to mount /. It gets past waiting for /dev/md0 to appear. John _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

question on 'VGA in" card
Hi All, Is there a solution under linux that can accept video in from another source and show it but also be able to turn that source off (in an automated way) and show the normal linux console. Then (in an automated way) switch back and show the external source again. So I want to normally be showing an external VGA input, then based on some event switch the monitor output to the normal linux

How to change Xen''s HVM windows client to bootup and install with default vga display resolution of 800x600 instead of 640x480?
Hi, I was wondering if there is a variable in HVM configuration file to set the default vga display size for a windows guest? Or if anyone knows the location in the qemu or the cirrus vga bios code where I can make this change to set the default display size. Thank you for your help and time, -Yung _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list

VGA passthrough to HVM Linux domU
I am having problems getting my 64-bit Debian Squeeze (Xen version 4.0, Linux Kernel 2.6.32) dom0 to pass a Gigabyte HD 5450 graphics card to an HVM 64-bit Arch Linux domU. I have two Gigabyte HD 5450 graphics cards connected to my Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 motherboard. I can pass the secondary card (the one the bios doesn’t show up on) to an HVM 32-bit Windows XP domU (I thought that would be the hard

VGA controller via pci passthrough in domU
Hi, is it possible to use a vga controller in domU via pci passthrough? What''s about nvidia/ati kernel modules? I tried to hide a ati radeon 9200 in dom0 and use it in domU but X fails to start with the following error (seems to be unrelated to the vga hardware): xf86OpenConsole: Cannot open /dev/tty0 (No such file or directory) Thanks & Regards Daniel

VGA Passthrough on a laptop with hybrid graphics?
Hello, With many intel chips now supporting Vt-d, and many laptops sporting hybrid graphics (integrated + discrete), I would expect there is some combination that would allow this type of setup. Pass the discrete graphics card through to a guest os, while the integrated graphics are used by Dom0. Any suggestions? Thanks, Josef Wells _______________________________________________ Xen-users

Does xen-4.2.0 support VGA passthrough with the virtual machine created by xl command?
Hi, everyone! I am working on xen-4.2.0 with spice remote connect. My host is Fedora 14 and guest is win7. I have installed spice package and now I can connect to guest by spice client. For better graphics experience, I want to try the VGA passthrough. With spice tool, I have to create a VM by xl command, and now I am wondering if it supports VGA passghrouth? If so, how should I test it ?

passing vga=<mode> to xen kernel
How can I pass a vga mode to the kernel on a dom0? I have a system that I can''t get to display on any of my monitors, it keeps saying out of range. This happens as soon as the kernel starts booting (meaning its not an X problem). Based on my understanding, I should be able to pass a vga mode (i.e. 640x480 8bit color) to the kernel and use that for booting. title Fedora

[PATCH] vga shared memory
Hi all, now that the qemu WMVi patch is applied we can take full advantage of it sharing the video buffer between the vga driver and the qemu vnc server. This saves a lot of memcpy. It''s worth mentioning again that when the guest colour depth is 24 bit we cannot share the buffer because 24 bpp is not supported by the vnc protocol, so we still have to do the translation 24 bpp -> 32

VGA passthrough on Paravirtualized VMs
I understand that VGA passthrough isn''t officially supported on paravirtualized VMs, but it will work with certain video cards. Does anybody have any information about which video cards/chipsets are/are not supported for paravirtualization, what the criteria for being supported/unsupported is etc.? I''m also interested in understanding the technical problems to getting VGA

Intel integrated graphics VGA passthrough problem - I/O virtualisation disabled
Hello all, I have already use xen for about a year. I use recently released Opensuse 11.3 (use Xen 4.0) for my experiment. I want to run 3D test in HVM(windows xp), so I want to use VGA passthrough technology. But there is something not work properly. I google a lot of time, it says, I/O virtualisation should be enabled, but I can solve it. I run "xm dmesg" command, in the
