help with push
But at the time the mesa3d file src/gallium/drivers/nouveau/nv30/nv30_screen.c is called and when the various PUSH_DATA begin to be called there is not yet a call to nouveau_pushbuf_space. So it would generate a seg fault in push->curr. Again, sorry for the confusion and thanks for the reply. Awaiting for an answer if possible. Thanks in advance. 2015-11-02 14:44 GMT-03:00 Ilia Mirkin

See libdrm's pushbuf.c -- iirc push->cur points to a GART-mapped bo. http://cgit.freedesktop.org/mesa/drm/tree/nouveau/pushbuf.c#n682 nouveau_pushbuf_data(push, NULL, 0, 0); nouveau_bo_ref(bo, &nvpb->bo); nouveau_bo_ref(NULL, &bo); nvpb->bgn = nvpb->bo->map; nvpb->ptr = nvpb->bgn; push->cur = nvpb->bgn; push->end = push->cur + (nvpb->bo->size /

help with push
Errrr.... are you sure? nv30_screen_create starts with a bunch of stuff init'ing objects, and then does: BEGIN_NV04(push, NV01_SUBC(3D, OBJECT), 1); PUSH_DATA (push, screen->eng3d->handle); And as you can see in nv30_winsys.h: static inline void BEGIN_NV04(struct nouveau_pushbuf *push, int subc, int mthd, int size) { PUSH_SPACE(push, size + 1); PUSH_DATA (push, 0x00000000

[PATCH 1/2] libdrm/nouveau: new optimized libdrm pushbuffer ABI
This patch changes the pushbuffer ABI to: 1. No longer use/expose nouveau_pushbuffer. Everything is directly in nouveau_channel. This saves the extra "pushbuf" pointer dereference. 2. Use cur/end pointers instead of tracking the remaining size. Pushing data now only needs to alter cur and not both cur and remaining. The goal is to make the *_RING macros faster and make the

[RFC] Explicit synchronization for Nouveau
Hi guys, I'd like to start a new thread about explicit fence synchronization. This time with a Nouveau twist. :-) First, let me define what I understand by implicit/explicit sync: Implicit synchronization * Fences are attached to buffers * Kernel manages fences automatically based on buffer read/write access Explicit synchronization * Fences are passed around independently * Kernel takes

CentOS 7.2 laptop wireless Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 2230 (rev c4)
With CentOS 7.2 a laptop wireless card is recognized in dmesg, but nonfunctional. Toggling the hardware wifi switch causes the Bluetooth icon to appear and disappear. The network configuration window shows the Wireless tab greyed out. Rebooting with the bluetooth enabled does not help. It appears the appropriate driver is iwlwifi, which is what works in Fedora and appears to be available and

[PATCH ddx] Add support for VRAM-less devices to the ddx
With this patch the DDX almost works with GK20A, the missing piece is adding COHERENT mappings to the right places. ;-) If you specify NOUVEAU_BO_APER the kernel will truncate valid_domains to the domains specified at creation time. This means that as long as we only specify the correct domain in nouveau_allocate_surface the effect is still the same. Signed-off-by: Maarten Lankhorst <dev at

[PATCH libdrm] nouveau: Support fence FDs
From: Thierry Reding <treding at nvidia.com> Add a new nouveau_pushbuf_kick_fence() function that takes and emits a sync fence FD. The fence FD can be waited on, or merged with other fence FDs, or passed back to the kernel as a prerequisite for a subsequent HW operation. [PATCH] nv50: H.264/MPEG2 decoding support via VP2, available on NV84-NV96, NVA0
Adds H.264 and MPEG2 codec support via VP2, using firmware from the blob. Acceleration is supported at the bitstream level for H.264 and IDCT level for MPEG2. Known issues: - H.264 interlaced doesn't render properly - H.264 shows very occasional artifacts on a small fraction of videos - MPEG2 + VDPAU shows frequent but small artifacts, which aren't there when using XvMC on the same

[PATCH] nouveau: put cursor BO in GART
Keeping it in VRAM wastes CPU time, because cursor_set ioctl reads handed BO back to RAM, just to write it to actual cursor BO. Here (nv92/core i7), this patch decreases overall cpu usage of drmmode_load_cursor_argb from 4.6ms to ~90us and lets nv50_crtc_cursor_set disappear from perf traces. --- I considered accelerating kernel-side copying with GPU, but it turns out that: - it's slower

[PATCH 00/10] Add support for MPEG2 and VC-1 on VP3/VP4 for NV98-NVAF
As it turns out, with the proprietary firmware, the VP3 and VP4 interfaces are identical. Furthermore, this is all already implemented for nvc0. So these patches (a) move the easily sharable bits of the nvc0 implementation into the nouveau directory, and then (b) implement the other parts in nv50. The non-shared parts are still largely copies, but there are some differences, not the least of which
