How Undo Yum Upgrade
I accidentally enabled a repo, so my automatic yum upgrade installed a
bunch of stuff and possibly broke yum. Is it possible to reverse this?
Follow is the yum log of what got installed.

OT: Local Mirror problems, wrong paths to RPMs with yum update
This week I set up a local mirror for a few dists, including Centos 4.0
and 4.2, and Fedora Core 3 and 4. I'm using a script called yum-pull.
For the most part I really like the script, it automates the setup of
your mirrors and tries a bunch of different mirrors when it goes out to
get updates, if it fails on one it tries another. It uses the usual
suspects, createrepo and repoview, among

Re: asterisk rpms (was: Does anyone run Asterisk on FC4? with Digium's TDM40B cards)
Morning,
I've installed asterisk on FC4 and had a few problems with zaptel stuff.
Having installed it on SuSE I was able to check a few things that were
different.
When installed with the RPMS, the udev stuff gets put into the normal 50-udev
file under /etc/udev. On SuSE, it worked when the necessary zaptel section
was in a separate file name 55-zaptel.udev (the name is arbitrary,

Building Dovecot CentOS 5 RPMs with custom LDAP packages
Hi,
We are (still) mainly using CentOS 5 (5.8 x86_64). As CentOS / EL 5
standard OpenLDAP packages are rather old (2.3.x), we've been using LTB
OpenLDAP packages ( http://ltb-project.org/wiki/download#openldap),
which get installed in non-standard file system locations.
I am not much experienced in building RPMs and preparing spec files. We
are currently using dovecot RPM packages from

Dovecot Sieve Broken with 1.1 RPMs?
We have been using dovecot v1:1.0.15-1_72 and dovecot-sieve v1.0.3-7
very successfully for many months but I've been unable to get
dovecot-sieve to work with the latest 1.1 release. The new release seems
to completely ignore our global sieve script no matter what we do.
Is anyone else using the atrpms-stable rpms packages and able to get
dovecot-sieve to work correctly?
Any help would be

Firefox and Thunderbird 2.0, Centos 5, and rpms
I am making some progress on my Centos 5 notebook build.
So I am looking at Firefox and Thunderbird 2.0.
Should I install them? Or is Redhat correct that there is nothing
improved here and wait for 3.0? (well I have not even had a chance to
look at Thunderbird 2.0, that is new)?
I have the install steps we covered here back on 2/2/07; but are there
rpms? I did not find anything over at

Error calling "read.table" from Python
Hello,Everybody,
Now I am using R (D)COM Server from Python to manipulate some data. When I
try to use "read.table" function to read some data, an error occurred.
However these statements work well when they are input to R directly. It is
so odd.
The Python scripts are as the following,
from win32com.client import Dispatch
sc=Dispatch("StatConnectorSrv.StatConnector")

Building Dovecot RHEL RPMs with custom LDAP packages
Hi,
We are (still) mainly using CentOS 5 (5.8 x86_64). As CentOS / RHEL 5

OpenLDAP packages (http://ltb-project.org/wiki/download#openldap), which

So, I would like to re-build Dovecot packages based on these OpenLDAP

Trying to build custom Python 2.4.4 RPM
I'm trying to build a custom RPM with a standalone Python 2.4.4 in the /opt
directory to keep it isolated from the stock version of Python in CentOS
4.4. The end goal is to use it in conjunction with yet-to-be-built RPMS of
the current versions of Zope and Plone.
The spec file I've constructed allows me to build a RPM successfully, but
when I try to install the RPM, it complains:

New CentOS 5 repo: dahdi, asterisk, freepbx RPMs
Dear list,
I've set up an RPM repository with several asterisk-related RPMs that I
think contain some improvements upon what are already out there. The
first goal is to be able to build an Asterisk + FreePBX system on CentOS
5 with the EPEL repo enabled; in our environment, where all our systems
are under configuration management, either an appliance-type solution or

RPMs for Fedora and RHEL/CentOS
Hi Michael,
thx for suggestion. Yeah, it would be cool just to rebuild Fedora
package for RHEL 7, but unfortunately I need dovecot for RHEL 6 :\
I found few repos that have newer version, then that in offical repo,
but trustworthy is very important here.
Thanks

Why are all repos < 5.6 listed?
Greetings all.
I just enabled all repos on my system, to enable me to find
a particular package. This is the first time I have noticed
all the Centos repos < 5.6 being listed.
Is this a new feature, to include all repos pre 5.6 now?
Here's the output of the aforementioned yum command - sorry
it's a little bit long:

Python 2.4 on CentOS4?
Hi,
Has anyone managed to find a Python 2.4 rpm binary that can be installed on
CentOS4? I'm running CentOS4.6 and an application that I want to use
required python 2.4 or greater. All the CentOS/RHEL4 python rpms that I
find are all for python 2.3. I can't seem to find anything that works with
CentOS4 libs.
Thanks!

Civ4 on Ubuntu doesn't work anymore after upgrade
Hi.
I upgraded my Ubuntu installation to 10.04 this morning and now I can't
make Civ4 work anymore (Beyond the Sword, patched 3.19, with last BUG
mod).
The application starts OK, but when I click "New Game", it crashes with
this console message :
