libv4l question
Hi all,
Hey I'm trying to do some web cam stuff, and I found this link:
http://freshmeat.net/projects/libv4l/releases/333037
I was doing the "rpm -qa | grep v4l" and nothing comes up,
I did "ls path_to_centos/RPMS/* | grep v4l " and nothing comes up,
I did 'yum provides "*/libv4l*"' and nothing comes up.
Is the CentOS library for v4l named something

Zoom....
Hi, folks,
Updated CentOS 7 the other day. Updated zoom last night. Ancient (15
yr old) USB camera, Logitech QuickCam Express.
If I run LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib64/libv4l/v4l2convert.so cheese, I get
video. Zoom, with or without the LD_PRELOAD - no video. I've tried
stracing zoom, and created a file /etc/ld.so.preload, with the contents
of /usr/lib64/libv4l/v4l2convert.so, and in

[ANNOUNCE] xf86-input-libinput 0.20.0
Most important fix is the use of input_lock() instead of the old SIGIO stuff
to handle the input thread in server 1.19.
This version now supports tablet pads and exposes properties for changing
the tap button mapping and the rotation.

Problem with Digikam and libgphoto2 after latest update
Hi,
I have CentOS 7 with KDE on my workstation. I'm using the CR repo. I had
to remove Digikam to be able to do the latest update (1 GB of updates...
wow). Here's what happens when I try to reinstall it.
# yum install digikam
...
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Package: digikam-4.10.0-6.el7.x86_64 (epel)

Ok... digging still more into this problem that I'm *still* fighting,
using mplayer and a higher debug level, what I *think* the significant
message is (this is just one example line):
libv4lconvert: Error decompressing JPEG: fill_nbits error: need 5 more bits
fps = 15.626953, interval = 0.096001, a_skew = 0.000000, corr_skew = 0.000000
vcnt = 1, acnt = 0
Which seems to indicate that for some

Preload error
When I open any wine session I get the following message in the console:
ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib64/libv4l/v4l2convert.so' from /etc/ld.so.preload cannot be preloaded: ignored.
Is this significant? The 3-4 apps I have installed seem to work (with a few hiccups during installation) but I have no idea of what this error message implies.

[fdo] Lots of wiki content rewritten
Hi,
To try to bring our wiki 'up to date' (as in, no longer talking about
CVS), I've gone through and rewritten a lot of the wiki content for
our main landing pages: our front page, the software and
specifications pages, the infrastructure pages, and even (to an
extent) the mission statement.
A lot of this is trying to describe how we've interpreted these things

Use the --without-freetype option if you really want this.
I tried using the option:

Is there an easier way of doing this?
I'm trying to compile the latest wine release from source after a fresh linux mint install, and this is what I get when I do './configure'
Code:

configure: libxi development files not found, the Xinput extension won't be supported.

Hello all...
I'm trying to compile wine 1.3.21 on my Linux Mint Debian Edition machine, because I'm tired of the antique version available from the repositories. Unfortunately, ./configure always ends with a bunch of WARNINGs and I'm not sure what to do about them. Here's the list it gives me:
