Accessibility: mouse guides for Compiz, and forthcoming contributions
Hello. [Resending the message from a subscribed address]
I'm Luca Saiu. I'm part of a small but very motivated team in France,
working on accessibility; you might have already exchanged some messages
with my colleagues Jean-Philippe Mengual, Ksamak and Raphaël Poitevin.
We are developing a customized version of debian using Compiz with
Emerald and MATE.
I've developed a relatively

Annoying gconf/ccsm behavior
Fedora 10 ships with compiz and launches it as: compiz
--ignore-desktop-hints glib gconf
This causes compiz to load the glib and gconf plugins at startup. This
works fine.
The problem arises when the gconf database does not include those
plugins in /apps/compiz/general/allscreens/options/active_plugins. What
happens is that the plugins get loaded at startup, and after all the

how to upgrade gtk on centos 4.8
Hello,
My centos is 4.8 while I need gtk 2.8 or later. How to upgrade GTK?
I'm trying to upgrade manually based on RPMs on 5.X, there are too many decencies when upgrading libX.
Is there anybody can give some suggestion to enlighten me? Thanks.

Compiz 8.6 on openSuSE 11.0 -- Success! But need help with a few issues.
Dominique, cc: compiz,
Dominique, you wanted the feedback, and List, I need your help. I have
installed and fully configured (kicked the tires) on compiz 8.6 on openSuSE 11.0
and on balance it is great. There are a few weird things going on. Most notably,
the number of options in ccsm that now uncheck themselves. In the past (compiz

Reviving compiz.org - quest for information
compiz.org hasn't been updated properly in almost half a decade, and
there's a lot of misleading or downright wrong information out there right
now.
There's a launchpad ticket on it [1], but the subject isn't quite covered
by a simple bug as it stands.
First thing first: Compiz has been using version 0.9 for almost half a
decade, and clearly deviated from past conventions of

whatever happend to unobtrusive javascript in Rails ?
Don''t get me wrong, JavaScript/Ajax helpers in Rails are a huge
timesaver and they have helped me to finally overcome my irrational
aversion to js libraries like prototype and such. However, all this
goodness seems to come at quiet a price. The resulting code is
littered with inline JS, including ubiquitous script tags and onload
attributes etc.. It seems that just when i found

Screencasting using Ogg
Here's what I'd like to be able to do...
Record my screen to an ogv:
- Record screen and encode in real-time using a light-weight encoder
settings (in order to keep CPU usage low while recording).
- Store ATK events (i.e. key presses, and menu clicks) as they occur as
meta-data within the ogg.
After the recording is finished:
- Post-process ATK meta-data to add overlays for

Windows cannot access \\server check the spelling of the name 0x800704cf
So then looking at my config files for both machines you see no problems there? I'm testing now, but I'm wondering if this is only happening on windows 10 clients.
Thanks,

Windows cannot access \\server check the spelling of the name 0x800704cf
Hello,
I am randomly getting this message when attempting to connect to my samba 4 file server by entering \\server in the run command in Windows. If I enter \\ip address then it will work every time. This seems like a DNS issue but not sure why.
I am running Samba version 4.9.2 on both the domain controller (dc2) and the file server (fs1)
I am using the internal DNS server on the domain

More clear CCSM messages
Hello,
Would it be possible to have someone knowledgeable about the inner working
of Compiz to change the messages CCSM uses (which can be found

One example would be the 'Sync To VBlank' option. I

Hai Rich,
Your output of ipconfig /all
Where are these?
Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . :
DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . :
This one is below in the output.
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Verify above again, if these 3 are all there and set to webb.local
Then try this : in you network settings, disable ipv6
Beside ipv6 and the 2 missing outputs, i see the same here on my pc.

Problem with mpi.close.Rslaves()
I am running R 2.7.0 on a Suse 9.1 linux cluster with a job scheduler
dispatching jobs and openmpi-1.0.1. I have tried running one of the
examples at http://ace.acadiau.ca/math/ACMMaC/Rmpi/examples.html in Rmpi
and they seem to be working, except mpi.close.Rslaves() hangs. The
slaves are closed, but the master doesn't finish its script. Below is
the example script and the call to R. The job is

Any switchers from mod_perl
Good afternoon,
I have been developing in mod_perl for many years, and my livelihood is based on
being productive with it. I''ve spent the past week reading and testing RoR and
it does look good. But before I take the plunge for my next project, I was
hoping to hear from other mod_perl switchers.
One of the main reasons I like mod_perl is code flexibility. I like being able

LTO, ifuncs, and lld
Thanks for providing the patch! I got around to testing it this
morning and it appears it fixes compilation, but produces a
non-working system.
I know that's kinda vague and I'll have more details soon, including
sample binaries. I at least wanted to give a status update so you
didn't think you were being ignored.
Thanks,
