Fw: SIMCA algorithm implementation
I have used PCA for data classification by visual examination of the 3D scatter plot of the first 3 principal components. I now want to use the results to predict the class for new data. I have used predict.princomp to predict the scores and then visualise the results on a 3D scatter plot using the rgl library. However, is there an R function that will fit the new data to the class assignments

Fw: HP T1000 UPS Upadet & help with using under knoppix
I have made some progress with this. If I add this into my loading script: /etc/init.d/udev stop sleep 1 /etc/init.d/udev start 2>/dev/null sleep 1it works from remastered CD. I have made 25 connection, reboot, reconnect, with no failures. I realise how strange this must sound & I definitely need the sleep commands!I am missing UPS temperature and battery run-time on the

FW: Print jobs hang in Samba, don't go to UNIX spooler
I hate to follow up on my own post, but here's an additional bit of info: I've tried changing the "print command" setting in smb.conf to log the command and parameters when a job is printed. However, no output is ever logged; it's acting as if the print job is being spooled but the print command isn't being executed. The print command I added is: print command = echo

Fw: Spool directory permissions for printing
Hello, I am new to Linux and Samba. I am trying to print from a W98 box to a Linux printer. I am using Suse 7.2 and Samba 2.2.8a., and Linux is acting as a PDC. I created a user in Linux and put it in the users group and the lp group. The only way I got this user to print was changing the spool directory permissions (and all the files within it) from 0600 to 0770. BUT when I restarted Linux today,
